Default Minor Trans Prob..

I have a 96 5spd, and when im driving the shifter req's alot of effort to push into gear. Coming out of first and going to second is fine, then it gets caught up just as im about to go into second, third, fourth.. im wondering if a trans service would do the trick or if this kind of symptom means trans death to follow.. i mean the car does have 287XXX kms on it.. i know its more of just a P.I.T.A but the little things really bother me.. i want nothing wrong with my car..

anything you guys can think of..

check the engine mounts. the front lower ones and the rear mount are probably ripped by now if they're original to the car.

synchronizers usally have a wear in the blocker ring wich causes a grind. if you have no grind then your shift rails or shift linkage might be binding slightly or even overtightening a short throw shifter will cause this.

Everything is stock as far as i know..

As for the mounts ill check those out..

I was chatting with my cousin, and he was saying that maybe the clutch isnt disengaging properly and because the trans is still spinning the gears doing go into mesh quite perfectly and thats why its hard to put into gear. Would a clutch being worn out cause this problem?? Any thoughts on the possibility of this clutch problem post..

Other cousin?

But now that you mention that, remember that you clutch master was low on fluid...

Check that level again, you could very easily have a bad slave cylinder or other leak which could do exactly what you said.

try and shift first an instead of second go to third cluthces on there way out slip in higher gears causing your revs to jump but your not hooking it to the tranny so insted of bogging your way up the rpm's in third you will hear your engine rev up and then catch and get pulled back down or try second to 4th or fith and dont ride your gear up to redline and then try cause it wont work switch at 3200 or so i learned this right from school man and my professor has been in the trade his whole life.

Updating for Fieldzy... Clutch master is leaking slowly past the plunger on the firewall side.

Topped up and all is good until he changes it.

Default UPDATED w/ Piczors!

**Update**
So i went to Honda and picked up some Honda MTF and did a drain/refill on my trans. After filling, i did the usual fluid check. My clutch fluid was on the min line, so i topped up to full. When seeing this and knowing i topped it up about 3 weeks ago, I thought of a little nuget of info i read off here somewhere "pull back the master's boot which is under the dash and check to see if its leaking" so i then went inside looked and this is what i found (sorry for the shitty quality)

then when i topped up the reservoir i noticed some cloudy ---- in the reservoir (again shitty pics)

So i ended up puting in the new CMC today (----------- helped out) and now the clutch feels super solid but my trans is still a little sticky. Much better than before, but still a little sticky.

I think i'll go a day or two more, then find a solution if i cant fix it manually...

^^^^ which area of Hamilton do you live in, if you dont mind me asking..? (PM is cool too)

its all good my cars locked in the garage most of the time.West mountain, you'll see me crusing around, i have fresh black paint full body kit molded in and chrome rims tails and markers and at night i have hids and white underglows wich look the same colour as the hids and angel eyes. I'm like the only black integra with white underglows in the city that i've ever seen?

Hmm...

Fieldzy, have someone get in your car and push and hold the clutch pedal down while you watch the slave cylinder. After seeing all the crap that flushed out of there I wouldn't be surprised if it was leaking internally as well.

Watch the slave for 30s or so so see if it retracts with the pedal held to the floor.
