Default Keeping your car safe!!

With so many cars getting stolen recently, I was just wondering if you guys could post up some tips on how to prevent and deter car theft.

I have a Boomerang tracking device and a super sensitive, super loud alarm on my car.

Should I get a fuel cut off? Starter kill??

Any other tips?

the alarm should already have an ignition kill(5spd) or a starter kill(auto). i guess a fuel cut off would work but putting it on a regular switch whould make it obvious. if you tie it in to an existing switch such as your parking lights it would desguise it well. so when you gotta start your car you have turn on your parking lights before you crank it over. my bro has installed stuff like this before on various vehicles.

some basic common sense non car tips

1) park hte car in the garage if the garage is full for wtuever reason do wut it takes to clean it out
2) if parkign on teh driveway park anotehr car behind yours so that your car is blocked in
3) get a nice bright auto sensor light for your front porch/driveway. no guarantee it will work but it will definatley scare some potential theives away having a nice bright light shining on their faces in hte middle of the night.

When I go to the mall, I like to leave a giant cane corso masiff in the backseat. It's amazing how the immanent thread of death can ward off theives.

a Big dog with killer bees in it's mouth, and when he barks he spits bees at you.

Really though, if a thief wants your car or part of it, they'll do what they have to get it. (i.e., my car was parked in front of my office during the day and some lowlife stole my rear valences without anyone noticing). I know it's not a great attitude to have, but it's reality these days.

I wouldn't advertise the Boomerang. If people know you have it they can disable it. It broadcasts a signal to a central location. With the right equipment and a bit of patience you can trace the location of the antenna and snip, snip. Nothing is fool proof. It is very effective against tow truck theft though and the amatuer car theif.

its not fool proof, but trust me, i took the car APART for them to put that thing in...it'll take them at least 30mins to take it out even if they know where to look..

Boomerang is not fool proof but it makes a good deterrent.
The best thief isn't going to waste time on that.

ya but even if they take 2 hours to find the transmitter, police will not be that fast to act. before they go looking for it, you have to report it stolen, fill out a report etc etc. by that time the boomerang unit is gone and the car is somewhere else. these guys don't mess around, if they want your car, it's gone. sad reality.

I would have to agree with majority of what the guys are saying. If any thief wants your car, he won't car what type of alarm you have....sadly enough even if you tried to break into your car, it's not the same because you're not a pro....I would have second the idea of parking in the garage, park another vehicle right behind it....

Gas cut off, move the battery to the trunk, get a brake lock and mind where you park...
There is still the threat of someone towing the car away.

Yes if they want your car they will get it! As simple as that, but if u can make it a little hard for them they May move on... As for boomerang etc. Does not work when they throw a lead blanket over it! Abosoluletly nothing will pass through it! So Lojack, Bomerang etc will be useless!
