Default Failed e-test..Need help

Hey guys,
I went in for my etest and failed it. There were my numbers:

Name: IMG00310-20110627-2346.jpg
Views: 88
Size: 99.5 KB

I put in a bottle of "guaranteed to pass" stuff from canadian tire, and ran it through before taking the test. Drove around in 2nd gear for a good while before going in to warm the cat up but i still failed. Need help guys..my sticker expires on the 23rd.

Edit: I also have a check engine light.. "Catalyst efficiency below threshold"

i failed the same thing a few weeks ago, its pretty much stating your cat is on its way out. Retard the timing like a bitch bring it to the shop nice and hot and it should pass

Be careful here.... retarding the timing will help but don;t overdo it!!! How do you know though ... well it's experience. Basically you are moving your distributor clockwise from the passenger side of the vehicle. Car will run very lean. If you overdo it you are in trouble.

That "Guaranteed to pass" did you run the entire tank of fuel through or did you just add it and drive in the car? You must completely use additives THEN fresh fuel. run 94 as well. DO NOT cruise around on a retarded dizzy!! In fact IF you retard it then do it at the parking lot then let them test the car. Then move it back before you go home. MARK where you had it originally.

But man really..... just get a new cat! It will (should) solve the issue. Maybe a universal O2 sensor at the same time since it is in your Cat!

Good Luck!

I put the whole bottle in the car and burned the full tank of gas off, then when it was on empty i filled up with premium and went for the test. Looks like im in the market for a cat

That DTC you have is a cat code. Replace your cat and I bet you 99% your car will pass the test if you afterwards.
