Default Check Engine Light went on after the Intake Removal ???

yesterday i took the cold air intake off from my 98 teg and put back the stock filter box in. It seems everything alright until this afternoon..... the check engine light went on !!
At first i thought it might be the problem around the intake area, likes the air temperature sensor problem or something like that. But after i checked the engine light code, it showed code 90 - "Evaporative Emission Control System leak detected in the fuel tank area"
i took the car to the garage for inspection.....the gas tank has no leak, gas cap is in good shape, everything seems fine and it drives just like normal....

Now i really don't know what's going on on my car.....maight be the CVS valve, charcoal canister...or...etc.... does anyone have any idea?
and is it really caused by the removal of intake???

THANKSSSS !!!

Check all fittings and make sure theyre on (and on properly/tight) near the intake area. Also reset your ECU (unhook battery for 5 mins or so) and see if it happens again before you go searching for the problem.

yeah, make sure all everything is connected on tight, and there is a fuse under the hood you can pull instead of disconnecting the battery, its on team-integras. but disconnecting the batery work fine as well.

it would have been a god idea to do this before going to the mechanic tho..unless he checked out the car for free..then its all good

Hey, i got the same code too, 90 right!!

basically it is the evap bypass valve. i've done nothing to fix it (besides resetting the ECU here and there and still drives fine.

i've done searches on here and found a guy that has the same problem, what he did was brought it to the shop and welded a hole in the canister.

i've also called Acura and they told me its a recall on 99tegs (im not sure if i should believe them or not). and i kno u have a 98.

Good luck.

If you do come up with a solution, please let me know what it could be so i can fix it too.

hey guys I've checked the code today by using OBDII scanner, it shows P1457, according to the code list, it is "Evaporative Emissions (EVAP) Control System Leakage (EVAP Canister System)"

actually how can i fix the problem..? what actually is EVAP canister system ? (which means the charcoal canister needs to be changed??)..... is it the common problem on Acura/Honda cars?

check to see if you damaged your evap purge solenoid near the throttle body or if any of the vacuum hoses are clogged or became disconnected.

My check engine light is on to, at first i thought it was the o2, but i bought a new one and changed it but the check light was still on, soo i took my car to a mechanic shop to get a computer diagnostic, soo i did that and the reason my check light is on is because my distributer cap is busted.
