Default alarm acting up?? :S

a weird thing is happening to me... my alarm is starting to act up really weird :S

yesterday i noticed my alarm kept going on / off... i had the keys in my hand and was like ok i must have pressed the buttons by accident or something...

then today i go to fill gas in the morning and i dont even turn my alarm on cuz im putting gas... and then i notice my alarm gives a chirp... im like wut the... is that my alarm?? it cant be i never turned it on... but i press the button to shut it off anyways...

I go pay, come back open the door and my alarm goes off... but i pressed it before to turn it off just in case... im like ok weird but wutever.. press again and it turns off... start the car and i go to work...

now at work i park turn the alarm on and it looks fine... then the guy from my office is like your alarm is going off... maybe because of the rain... so im like ok ill go check it out...

i go to my car and check it out... turn the alarm off... beeps 4 times showing it went off... so i sit in and turn the alarm on... my light is flashing showing me its on...

i press to disarm it and then the LED light is supposed to just turn off indicating the alarm is off....but instead it flashes really really fast constantly until i try to start the car... then it goes off... so im like its not supposed to do that...

at this point its supposed to be off with me in it... and what does it do... it starts just going off :S i dont know whats wrong... i know its gone off when i had it disabled... this sucks

any ideas on what would cause this?? its an autopage alarm... one way (not pager)... i know i will hear to just get compustar 2 way or something but i dont want to upgrade unless i have to... im gonna call the place that installed it for me and see what they have to say about it... the alarm cant have broken already :S its only gonna be two years old in october... do some normally start to act up weird after only 2 years???

your car battery could be dying or your remote battery is going.

Try that first

I had the exact same problems that you mentioned. It ended up being a loose connection to the brain of the alarm.

i called my alarm shop and they told me the flashing LED means it is probably in programming mode and i had set it up somehow to auto arm after 15-20 seconds when the door is open :S sounds strange to me since i never knew my alarm had this, but he also mentioned to check the alarm brain and see if anything going to that looked out of place...

i will check my car battery as that may be a problem, but I think the remote battery is fine? whenever i press anything the alarm recognizes and beeps correctly... i will look into this and report back what i find out...

thanks for the suggestions...
