Default Making lowering springs

So here's what i'm thinking

Topic-Making lowering springs
I know NEVER CUT YOUR SPRINGS!!
As i was thinking about the many reasons for this. And my favorite is that the spring's end is closed or shaped so i wont rotate or hop out of the perch.
So there for the best place to cut them is in the middle.

That said i had thought maybe if you compress the spring and then heat it to change the high just like bending pipe?

Let me know what you think

i don't think it would be that easy, and you would need to be very exacting with temp/heat control for all 4 springs. It may work, but there is a very good chance that the springs could crack under load once put back on the car. I wouldn't do it. Invest in a decent set of springs and you'll be more then happy especially if you are thinking of AutoXing this year. The corning loads are much greater then those on the street.

You should never heat a spring it changed the springs properties and you have no idea/control of the properties the spring is going to take also you will not be heating the entire spring uniformly - youre better off just cutting the springs than applying any kind of heat to them

The costs of used springs is so cheap now that it's not even worth it.

Dumb idea.... especially to do it to an integra..... I had a friend that did that to a set of eibach springs, and the car for the first week was fine, but then one side caved in, and the car was sitting uneven.

your better of going to pacific mall, buying a set for cheap, or checking out public msg boards.

heating a spring is almost as bad as cutting it, by heating the middle, the tension of the spring is reduced at that middle point, then you hit a bump and it cracks. guy, you can pick up a set of tomm motorsports coilovers for like $180 cash.
