by the center caps, its a VW

a smart car would not crumple like that,

there are vids of smart cars vs. trucks, the smart car is built like a roll cage,
it has crumple zones in the frame, and becomes a protective cage.

actually it does better than most mid sized cars in crash tests.

It's a Polo most likely, 2nd smallest vehicle made by VW.
It doesn't matter what you drive in an accident like this, when a passenger car goes under a truck. No car can ressist that kind of impact especially at high speeds.
I was watching a clip where a Smart going over 100km/h was crashed against a concrete wall. The plastic body of the car was totally gone but the above mentioned cage was almost perfect. But it was clearly said that the driver would most likely not survive that sord of accident even though the cage didn't bend much.

A friend of mine was one of 5 people that died when the driver lost control and their BMW went under a truck the same way as shown in picture.

May they all R. I. P.

+1 I posted a smart car vs. a wall @ 60mph. The smart car's frame was perfect. You can even open both doors easily.
