Pics from my trip to San Diego (Warning pic intensive!!!)
Here are some pics I took on my week long trip to San Diego. I was down there to visit my best friend from high school and to do some sight seeing. Long story short: My friend who I was supposed to be visiting gets sent to India for work 3 weeks before my trip, so basically Im gonna go down there alone. At least he let me stay at his pad and use his car. I said ---- it, I'll make the most out of it. I needed a vacation badly.
The pics might seem kinda boring, I didnt know what to do while I was down there and didnt really know where anything was so google was my best friend for the week. Anyways onto the pics
San Diego Scenery:
Had nothing to do the first day I was there so I decided to check out Tijuana, Mexico which is only a 40 Min "Trolley" ride away from Downtown SD.
This was the lineup of cars waiting to cross the border into the US. The pedestrian line was at least a 1 hour wait.
My friends studio apartment I was staying at. Its a nice building with a hostel like atmostphere. There are lots of young people living at this building most of them were foreign exchange students. Most of them were from Europe, Brazil and Japan.
Lobby
Hallway
Inside the Apartment. IMO its a perfect bachelor pad, everything you need in one box!
My car for the week, its pretty much stock except for the GP Sports Front Bumper, Buddy Club N+ Suspension.
Pacific Beach, this area was just beautiful.
Why dont you try the cheesburger and fries for 2.95 at Fatburger ****** lol
Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum, one of the highlights of my trip. I love jets and this was as close as I can get to them. This ship is HUGE!
I got a chance to catch a Padres game at Petco Park since they were in town for the week. Petco Park is a beautiful Park, it makes Skydome look so cold and boring. I sat up on the 3rd level so I couldnt get any good pics of the actual players. They lost to Arizona that night 8-6.
I met up with HT user "Reza" while I was down there. He's definately a cool guy to chill with. We went out and got some beers and played some video games during the week. On my final night in SD I went up to his place to check out his DC and he took me out for a boot at Palomar Mountain for a late night "touge" run. If you seen the roads in Initial D, just picture those in real life. This mountain road was a drifter's wet dream come true. Too bad I didnt get any pics of the run or the roads because it was pitch black. I did get a few quick snaps of his DC, unfortunately it was too late to get any good pics in and we ran out of daylight. Im sure most of you guys have seen his car on HT.
I took off the Circuit Hero decals he had on his fender for him. He told me he saw Alex's (Canttx) Car pics posted on HT and he wanted his car to look just as clean and back to plain Milano red. This car handles well and ------- moves!!! Its not a hardparker as most people think.
He had a set of these lying around, along with some J's racing fender flares (not pictured)
And that is the end.
A few things Ive learned on my trip: SD is beautiful I need to move down there, the women are beautiful, the weather is PERFECT, I need to buy an S2 and it was fun to be a bachelor while it lasted.
Thanks for viewing!

Wow
I'm reliving my trip to San Diego a year ago all over again. I swear I was exactly where you were!
The Marriott hotel in your 2nd pic was where i stayed while at the Interstate Batteries Convention in '06.
I visited the U.S.S. Midway and saw all those planes too! And that pier with all those hotties I swam at and got one of the worst sunburns of my life!!
Tijuana was crazy eh! I think I checked that pharamacy as well! wow, memories
San Diego was awesome. It's cool that you had a chance to visit there.
I'd go back in a flash!

Id love to go back, permanently. SD is a beautiful city. I had no gps to help me get around. I used a good old paper map to help me around and google maps helped too. I tried not to drive around too much since I wasnt familiar with the city and surrounding areas. I took the car out only when I had to. The highways down there are beautiful, its a very scenic drive.
I couldnt figure out how to put the car in reverse the first time I took it out. I had to call Tbag and ask him how to get it in reverse

Damn it! My mom's aunt lives in SD and from the sounds of it I'm welcome to drop in for a vacation any time.
Lately I've been saying to myself, I'd probably be happy to move somewhere in Cali. I learned a few things from your pics John. First, I didn't know Mexico was so close. Second, my thoughts/dreams/perceptions were right! Cali is beautiful.
I think it would have been cool too if you got a chance to go to a mini-meet of some sorts.
