I just read this whole thread and have learned that some of these people are bitches. I thought this site was created to showcase peoples cars as well as buy and sell parts. Am I wrong? If people wonder why the weekly meets have died off, this thread sums it up. It's intimidating for a noob to read this and feel welcome. ---- if you guys were this hard on this car, I cant imagine what would be said about my car (96 gsr with shocks & springs). What ever happened to just liking the model of car and leaving it at that. Have you ever been to a muscle car show? Those older guys don't hate, its all about cars for them. I know this post might also bring criticism to myself but, ---- you. I wouldn't take this ---- if I was Apes, the last thing I need is some zit faced 22 year old kid telling me that my car is not original or not as cool as his, shut your mouth.

By the way, your four door looks good to me.

i agree, sometimes there is waaaaayyyy toooo much hostility, outside the area of just kidding around...what can you do, you take the good on this site, with the bad.

BTW, Apes, nice swap! More details about the swap would be good. I like

i didnt read anything on this entire thread (except for this post i quoted), i only looked at the pictures. but hey, hes right, we should all respect each other's cars. i personally dont go to meets yet because i feel that my car will be made fun of since i dont earn enough $$ to do any crazy modifications since i am only a student in university with high tuitions to pay. from the pictures i saw, i see that someone took the time to rebuild and bring life back into a car. its not a 2 door w/ the jdm front end that i always see around the GTA and that itself gets 2 thumbs up. as a matter of fact, hes nice enough to share what he does in his spare time for us to enjoy. if u dont like it, press the back button and read up on another thread. im not picking on anyone in particular since i did mention that i didnt read any other posts/posters but you know who you all are.

I have a feeling its a "She" and not a "He". April is usually a girls name....just clarifying...which makes it even more awsome. Most chicks are like "I like the color of your car, does it go really fast?". Nice to see a female doing it up...

It didn't stop there, I have never seen that much shitty bodywork on so little number of cars in my life. The body kits were horrible too.

That Integra with RSX taillights from another thread looked ten times better than any of these cars. The Civic I saw had an ugly as hell uneven wide-body kit and the rims were not the right offset.

Is it just me or should people wait until they have enough money to do things properly to their cars? My way of thinking is that you only do things if your going to do things right. Just because you can fit Celica headlights onto a DC2, doesn't mean you should.

I personally have more respect for people that drive stock cars because they cannot afford to mod them properly yet. Its not even about creativity when it came to these cars, it's about quality and unfortunately in this case there really was none.

Has anyone seen this " crew " ?

Your right, I should never have said that. I myself was new here and have learned in time that its not right to talk about peoples cars like that. If I remember correctly thought was I not talking more about the workmanship, than the idea of modding, in the post? Maybe not. I had said "Is it just me or should people wait until they have enough money to do things properly to their cars? My way of thinking is that you only do things if your going to do things right. Just because you can fit Celica headlights onto a DC2, doesn't mean you should. I personally have more respect for people that drive stock cars because they cannot afford to mod them properly yet. As far as I can tell Apes was doing things properly, But then again I am not a certified mechanic so who am I to talk.

So basically youre a hater and youre hating on anyone that has more mods than you? What happens when you start modding and you drive a not so stock car anymore? Does that mean you lose respect for people who drive stock cars?

Youre a hater and a hypocrite, quit backtracking.

Did I not say "properly" in that quote? I dont hate people that have more mods that I do, your being ridiculous. You say dont backtrack, I admit when I am wrong and said something I shouldn't but I will also defend my self if I think I have a valid point.

What is worng with waiting until you can afford to spend the money once and do it properly? If someone was to ask you about a suspension upgrade and said that they wanted to put 3" drop springs on stock shocks would you advise against it? Would you maybe suggest that they buy shocks too because it will save them money in the long run and also ride better? I know I would. Hence the " properly " part. I like to think I have learned over time that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Do you understand what I mean BHG?

why are you suddenly referring to suspension modifications? weren't you talking about the celica headlight conversions? who are you to deem what is a "proper" modification? if you don't like it, fine. if you want to express your disgust and ridicule, go ahead and do it. hating is fine. i do it, you do it, everyone does it, the only difference is whether you can admit it.

i have more respect for the ricer who puts celica headlights, altezzas, grapefruit shooters and all that other crap than their cars than the jdm ricer sheep slapping shocker stickers, new driver badges and spoon/mugen/R style lips on their cars thinking they are better than everyone else.

dude, quit backpedalling and admit you're a hater.

The suspension example was to illustrate a point. It went a little deeper than just springs and shocks. I tried to break it down thinking it would be easier to understand. The other thing is I think you are misunderstanding what I mean by saying "proper". Its not that the headlights do not belong on that car ( which I personally wouldn't do ) but its the way you do it. I would not pay someone to do, or do bodywork myself that looked like most of those cars did. Again I have no shame in admitting fault but dont confuse that, with backpedaling. I am trying to make sure my point is understood. If you are going to criticize me do I not have a right to defend myself? I would expect the same from anyone I criticized. I feel the more I say the more you guys misunderstand.

Now, whats your spin on this last post?

who the ---- are you to say what mods are "proper" and what isn't... if you did happen to read this whole thread (as you claim you did) you'd have then noticed this car is NOT a DB8 but rather a poser DB8.. is that proper for you then? better yet it's a DB8 with itr stickers... more proper for you? oh i bet if some guy in a crx puts a b18c5 in his car and sticks a type r sticker on it, you'd be quick to cut up that poor bastard wouldn't you?

oh i have a b20 in my integra.. am i now driving a CRV? is it a proper mod?

you didn't just rag on the bodywork but you also went on to mention things about widebody kits and such. oh ya, it's there.

You just dont get it do you? Who the ---- am I? I'm not a mechanic like I said, I'm just someone with an opinion.
As I said before, I should not have said most of thoses things, did you read that part?
You can assume all you want but you know what happens when you do that, dont you?

I think they understand what your trying to say. I understand what your saying.

What I want to know is that if your not hating and said it should be done "proper", is who decides what proper?

What you mean to say is that "In your opinion" instead of "proper" which in the end depending on who you talk to is still hating/wrong/correct.

When you put it that way, I can understand how what I was saying comes across. I personally dint try and put anyone down but looking back I probably have. I guess I saw my post today as different form the one about the 24k crew. I guess it was different to me because a person was being singled out in this post and yet I had made a general comment. However, in hindsight it was no different.

And it doesn't matter how old you are, once you get in that car, your a street racer. After more than ten years of bad driving my record finally cleared up when I stopped driving "rice burners". I bought a Chrysler sebring and did not get pulled over in more than three years. This past summer I needed a commuter car for work so I bought a 96gsr. Well I swear the cops can hear my stock exhaust coming. Whether in Toronto, Durham, York or Peel I get pulled over more now than ever. I look young but I dont think thats it,I think it's the car.

Lets get this straight,
1. I could care less about civics in any form and i believe everyone has witnessed that already. Call me the hater but I only went on TCC for the several days that we didnt have the TI website working.
2. I drive an integra, I respect other integras.
So.... what does my references to TCC and my opinions about integras have any relation to each other?

Man, i log on yesterday, and all is cool. I log on this morning and back to drama.....
Chill out ppl.... whats up with digging up quotes from other threads? Seriously though, why go to the trouble just to try and show someone up? Sounds like some folks got way to much time to kill.
Arguing about being haters or not??? Come on.

i agree.. in fact i'd go on to say modifying any vehicle for "unique" factor is down the tubes... honestly just modify a car the way u want to and don't worry so much about what other people say.. it's an opinion.

as katt williams said... "a haters job is to hate. if you got 30 haters now u gotta figure out how to get to 40"

on the same note, if you come into a public forum and expect not to see people telling you negative things, you're in a dream world..

not directed at you BTW ..
