My repair/build thread...

Well since other people like the idea and want to see what other people are up to for the winter etc... heres some of mine...
its not too much, more of just a repair but its what i'm doing over winter... I had a cooling issue, due to a accident with a prior owner, with the ac compresser pushing into the rad... and it overheated blah blah... so decided to rip apart the head and get it machined... pulled a/c and a few other odds and ends i'm doing to get it ready for summer... heres some pics for a start... http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...R/IMG_0190.jpg A/C removed :) Attachment 11726 oooo floating, its magic! lol Attachment 11727 cams and cam gears removed Attachment 11728 and heres the lovely cams and cam gears! Attachment 11729 head off :) Attachment 11730 my friends civic bumper on, just for fun (not actually putting it on) Attachment 11731 |
Not bad man, got to love doing engine work.
that civic bumber would actually be a sick conversion.... so i are putting the ac back in or just keeping it all out?
leaving it out, it didn't work, and I donno what the problem was, it didn't work when my friend bought the car even. So saves weight, and the amount of times I use it even in my other vehicle... meh... I had the sunroof open and windows open ALL the time, unless it was raining lol
While everything is out, put some nice aem cam gears in there.
I bought some nice cleaner ---- to clean the engine bay ;) it'll be nice and shiny and purty! :) I still got some fun/cool pics from last night from my DSLR to upload lol

Noice Noice. I love seing integras torn apart for some reason. Looks like serious business is going on. Car looks Cleaaaaaaan. Love the Spoilerless look
well I got more pics to add up later, but tonight, got my full JIC exhaust installed. The axel back (titanium part) was already installed, the mid pipe (stainless steel) I had to have a 4.5" piece welded on to extend it to fit...so got that done tonight and put up, so exhaust is done, and I placed the headgasket on the block, and put the head on, on thursday when I go back up, the head will get tightened down, the exhaust manifold will be tightened back up... pics to be up tomorrow/later today lol.

LOL Attachment 11698 |
niceeeee. is that weld proper.
ya its welded properly...other than he didn't use stainless wire (which is why I had to use high heat paint on it)...
MOAR work!!! Makes me jelous :( Cuse nothing is going on with my teg for a bit
ya thats the work from monday...but I went to bed like right after I posted up the info of what I did, got busy tuesday... i'll be back up tomorrow to continue work :) hopefully the head will be bolted down, as will the exhaust manifold.... I ordered the intake manifold gasket tonight (heat barrier) so hopefully i'll have that shortly... need to work on my tranny/clutch to see where the problem is...and when I searched, theres hope its not the tranny a lot of ppl had problems with clutch parts, like pp, or springs came loose on the clutch etc... :) heres for hoping!!!!
well its been a little while since i've posted progress/pics. I was sick there and didn't work on my car for like a week (which would have been 2 nights..) So i've been up here and there...and for the most part the car is back together. Next time i'm up, just gotta properly set timing, and then wait for my valve cover to get back from powder coating so I can install it and start my car :)...make sure everything is proper, and then pull off the tranny/clutch see if I can find my problem with that.

well i polish wheels at work and if you get a good compund then it wont dull water and every will just run off of it if it was like a wax, but i kno what you mean by the "machined" it does look awsome but that will still get the white powdery corosion on it in the long run so make sure its always clean lmao
