I think the better question is, who told you is was ok to break-in a new motor on 14 pound of boost?
There's a reason why Honda recommends not hitting Vtec for the first 1000km on a new car - on a highly stressed small displacement turbo engine, it's even more vital.
Really this is mechanics 101

Also, if the engine wasn't properly broken in, then his rings won't be properly seated, and damage to the ringland's are more likely to occur.
Ever see a piston ring slice through a block, under boost at 8000 rpms?

the engine break in debate is never ending. my car was broken in on the dyno just like him. I red an article about the ford WRC team a few years back and they break in an engine by starting in and running it at 8000rmp for break in. they said that a full race fortified engine broken in, in such away is the most reliable, if there was any problem with the engine it would not be an issue during a race, it will just blow during the ridiculous break in. even edelbrock crate motors require just a 30min idle break in and then do what you will with them. Its just like clutch break in/ brake be in/ engine oil change interval, everyone has their theories. My engine was broken in on the dyno, before it had 500km it was running 30psi, the clutch was broken in on the dyno, the first run the clutch saw 544hp. my oil get changed with whatever conventional oil is on sale every 3000km usually castrol 10w40

It's a B18C GSR Block with a Type R head. Bottom end has Darton sleeves bored out to a 2.0, Wiseco pistons with a 9:1 compression ratio, Eagle H beam rods, Balanced crank and hot tanked. The head has skunk2 stage 2 cams, skunk2 cam gears, skunk2 titanium retainers, skunk2 valve springs, and a greddy timing belt.
