Default My DB2 Build

Alright so I'm bored and decided what better time to make a build thread and entertain myself and others.

I've been around Hondas for a long time. Some people here make remember me and my 1st EG hatch (blue, slammed, fart can, amber turns, autotragic circa 2001-2002). Since then I've had a 89 5.0L Mustang notch back, 89 Prelude Si 4WS, 94 Grand Cherokee all jacked up on mudders, 93 CX hatch beater, 93 Grand Cherokee V8 and finally my 93 GS-R. I bought the Teg because gas prices were nuts and my commute is about 60km one way to work (crap).

Anyhow, here's the car in all it's glory shortly after buying it. I add 1 pieces, ITR style lip, amber turns and of course, stickers!

Then I picked up parts to do my S2000 cluster install.

Modifry ECT converter:

Electronic VSS:

Started wiring the S2000 cluster plugs to spare DA cluster plugs I pick up.

I've got over 20 hours worth of work into the harness. Had to figure out all the DA wiring with a spare cluster, total pain.

Then soldered it into the car:

Then did a little trial run of it (no speedo or ECT at this time):

Here's a little vid and some driving, ignore my dumb comments.

And a night vid.

And that's where I end off.
I've got a B18B block and I might build up an LS/VTEC motor but anyone who knows me knows my mind changes one day to the next.

Right now I'm gonna re do my suspension, get some new rims, some exterior ----, brakes, etc.

Enjoy!

I've got a rear strut bar too lol. I'm looking at an ASR rear bar and sub frame kit actually, we'll see how nice Christmas is to me first.

Speed cable is fine once you get use to it.
I just need some side markers and a new set of 1 pieces, mine are cracked.

Strut bar is just a no name BS Pac Mall Piece. My old EG had some Skunk2 stuff on it and I noticed a big difference. The brand name stuff is generally more stiff and not flexy like the cheap brands. I can grab my megan c-pillar bar and almost bend it, good thing it was cheaper.

I need a swap bar and I like the bling of the ASR.

OOOO SHINEY!

I won't be doing a cage till the car is no longer a DD and still it will never be a total race car. I like to cruise and ---- lol.

Next set of mods are ASR brace and rear sway bar, ST front sway bar, rear tie bars (EM racing maybe), full bushing kit. I might do a camber kit, not sure yet. Then it's get my NSX brakes on the front and RSX brakes on the rear.

It's just RSX calipers really. Using EP3 rotors since they are 4x100 (early models were 4 lug), that will give me 10 or 10.3" rears which should really balance it out nicely.

I'll likely be doing the swap at my friend's dad's shop which is just out side of Cambridge. You're more then welcome to come check it out.

this would be a great alternative for the rear brakes. as iv had so many rear calipers seize on me

So after I spend 20 hours figuring out the wiring and all the hard stuff you just want my wiring diagrams.
I've got cluster pin outs, no clue if they are the same on the 90-91 though, I don't see why not. I intend to do a complete wiring diagram/list and how to once I get it all finalized.

Not sure. They just moved to a new shop like a week ago and I forget where it is.

It's a Megan Racing one for a EF bought it from --------.
I'd personally spend the money on an EM Racing one, much better quality.

There's lots of calipers you can use in the rear. I choose to go with RSX calipers and 10.3 EP3 discs.

Started to install the PICs last night, no good pictures because I forgot my camera.

Then we hit a snag, I was sold the wrong forks! ARG! Partly my fault for not noticing when I bought them but still. I'm not dropping any names yet, going back there when they open this morning and hopefully get the right ones or a refund.

So for now I'm riding on PICs in the rear and Teins up front lol. Also the rear is a lot lower because the PICs are shorter, tucking tire in the rear and like 3" up front LOL.
I'll be getting the front PICs in tomorrow, hopefully won't have a problem getting the right forks today. I also need some bolts and washers to hook my sway bar back up with the Megan arms. The arms were the same length as stock too.

On the plus side, the PICs are friggin STIFF!!

The rear is lower then the front but I'm too lazy to adjust it and it's winter time. Come spring it will come down a bit lower.

Oh and remember, when driving, you've got to listen to good music.

Total JDM, it took a bit of fighting but I got the right ones.
The forks they sold me were DC forks. DA forks have a smaller hole for the shock since the shock mount is smaller.

The car was sitting on ITR spec Teins, hence why I need new forks.

Thanks, need to be evened out though.

Did a junk yard run with Tristan and some other people today. I forget the other guys names lol.

I picked up a new cluster trim piece (had so many friggin problems getting them out, finally got one out in one piece), passenger side door lock switch trim, 4040 prop valve and OEM exhaust tips (w00t).
