you're right, i don't track my car, but it's not by choice. i didn't put it on the road this year, but hopefully i can get some seat time next year.

I did take the car to the drags once or twice, but it wasn't my thing.
The lesson that I learned is, its one thing to mod a car for a purpose, i.e for track, for autox, etc. Its another thing to mod it just to have the lastest bling race parts on a daily driver, its just a waste of money. Thats something that seems to happen a lot on T-I.

i got the front end in 2002. the car wasn't rusting back then. it's rusting now because it's an eleven year old daily driven 365 days per year, sat outside honda that wasn't rustproofed properly. duh.

i buy bling parts for my daily driven car cause i like the way it looks.
what's the matter with that? I'm getting married...saving to buy a house and I still mod...cause it's a fun hobby. I honestly don't see the point in this ENTIRE argument that everyones getting involved in.

i never said i was a brake expert. i don't have first hand experience, do you? well, probably not in your gsr since you never tracked it even though you dumped all this money into a wilwood set up.
Wayne, it's cool you sold your GSR and moved on to an M3 and are using it for autocross/track. that's great. but for you to come constantly criticize others for putting aftermarket performance parts and not using the car for autocross or track events is hypocritical and getting old.

I guess that stock cast wheels are 7.5 inches wide too huh
How about the weight savings from moving from a full cast iron rotor to one with an aluminum hat? How about the weight savings from moving from a full cast iron caliper to an aluminum caliper, neither of which fit under the stock wheels (this was before fastbakes offered anything like that). Do the math and you will see that those add up to way more than 2 lbs/ wheel
So I actually reduced overall weight (rotational and unsprung) by going with a larger wheel and the brake kit.

As for dropping large on an Integra, it was a daily driven car in any season except winter, and it was a helluva lot of fun. Do you even have a video of your car at track/autox/drag? I do, so pull your head outta your *** and stop making assumptions about my old Integra.

1. All I am saying is that its a waste of money to mod a car just for the sake of modding it. Thats my opinion formed from experience. I bought the M3 because I didn't want to do the modding thing again, and I've only modded in a way to take advantage of those events that I particpate in, or plan on doing.
2. Forget about the M3, part of the way the Integra was modded was to make it a more fun daily driver, but part of it was just throwing away money, and I really don't want other people to make the same mistakes. If you feel the need to rock spoon wheels, or work wheels or whatever else floats your boat, then go right ahead. But don't say the justification for doing that is because Rota wheels, or any other non forged wheel is ----, because it simply isn't true

Its when you start racing, you start breaking stuff, and modded cars aren't anywhere near as reliable as a stock car. Thats when you have to start spending money to fix broken ----, that you could be saving

A car doesnt feel right to me if its got a set of cheapie wheels. If you didnt cheap out on your other parts (ie, motor mods, tires, paint etc..) then why cheap out on the wheels?
I have no problem with Rotas myself, I love some of the wheels they got. Polished Slipstreams, Black/Gold GT3s are some that I like. But I dont have the PI hookup to be able to buy them for "everyday" use.

i'd rock a set of rotas.....i want GT3's. knock off or not they don't try to make it look like a GAB wheel with stickers and a certer cap. you get GAB styling and don't pay the GAB price. i'm not making my car into a track ----- therefore i can't justify spending that kind of money on a track wheel. i like the look so i'll take the rotas.

You cant be banned for voicing your opinion. If you (or anyone I mean) follows someone around in the forums and trashes their posts or posts up ---- about them contstantly thats something else but voicing your opinion is allowed. Im always a big advocate about that. Thats why boards such as clubsi are so liked because they dont censor or ban everything that moves. Racist comments are different and Im sure BHG caught some ---- about the Polish comment although it wasnt fully a racial slur or anything. Anyways Im out of this thread unless it gets back to wheel choices lol.
