I think it looks pretty good (there are better looking cars but this one looks good too) Im not the biggest fan of the dark wheels though. Ive seen 3 in person 1 red, 1 gunmetal and 1 black. They all look pretty good - the red looks surprisingly good.

Same price: AM V8V vs. the GTR and I'd take the V8V in a heartbeat.
Sounds better, nicer interior, looks 100 times better, doesn't handle as well or as quick but it will always be an Aston Martin and not a Nissan.
My 2 cents on it.

and dont forget to mention if you think you are going to daily drive the AM better getz out the $$$.... the Nissan can be driving all day long without issue.

If you're talking depreciation then we don't know how much the GTR will drop since it just came out.
If you're talking maintenance check out the price of many parts for the car. It's far from cheap.
At least you can go into purchasing an AM and know that the car will depreciate at a certain rate each year and exactly what upkeep will run you.
Plus most people buying the GTR aren't using it as a DD, that's coming straight from the owner of the Oakville Infiniti dealer.

That car is sick, that part of Richmond Hill is in the hood for the money. (that pic is taken at Yonge & Hitech Rd area)
I would daily drive that car, looks amazing from the pics. I haven't seen one in person yet.

And who's to say the same won't be the case with the GTR?

yeah but the ZR1 is a monster and the magnetic ride control is turning heads. This car can go from track monster to cruiser with the touch of a button or turn of a **** can't remember which. GTR isn't doesn't has as forgiving a ride. Plus the ZR1 just looks sex, then again I am bias because i'm looking to pick up a c6 in may. This financial crisis is really driving the prices down on used corvettes in the states.
Oh yeah and i'm not to keen on paddle shifting regardless of whether its faster or not. I love clutch, my left foot would be bored.

Check the autotrader and I'm sure you'll see a few US cars.
As for the GTR, Nissan/Infiniti has taken a page out of the BMW handbook. $3,800 for pads and rotors for the GTR, no third party options for now and maybe going forward. If it's that much for pads/rotors, just imagine for the rest of the car. Heck, that's more than my Ferrari.
Markets have a tendency to normalize vehicles, BMWs depreciate quickly for many reasons but that's one of the primary ones. The GTR will likely follow the same path IMO.

Hey bob there already taking orders on the 2010 zr1s at MSRP...the states are collectively too poor to buy the ZR1 and 150,000 which seems to be what most dealers are asking for them. There are a few sitting in dealer lots already greedy bastards
#31
They've been taking deposits with people assuming it would be at MSRP, then the car arrives with a giant mark up.
A bunch of people have walked away and they seem to be continuing with the mark up.
Here's one example...

Yeah thats true but the main supporting dealers on the corvette forum are now gauranteeing it for 2010.But yeah i've heard some pretty bad stories about hte dealer mark ups its too bad GM can't control the pricing they might even start losing loyal customers because of this type of BS but what can you expect from stealerships right?
#33
There should be tons of after-market support for the GT-R, however how any manufacturer can justify 3800 for pads and rotors is beyond me. That being said having seen the GT-R in person the rotors are huge....

ive seen plentyof Blue devils in the US selling at msrp.........not in cali, az, or nv, but out in like iowa , nebraska you can find them........im so tempted to sell my c5 z06 and grab a c6 z06.......
my only dilemna is just curious to see what the first batch on zr1's will be priced at when they are a year or so old......... part of me wants to hold off for a couple of years

Somebody told me that the new GTR is not performance part friendly and theres actually a sticker or it was written in the manual that any aftermarket parts would void all warranties...... i also heard that if you change the rims or even change the make of tire that the GTR comes with it will actually throw engine codes

That seems pretty reasonable considering i've heard that Nissan has considerably downplayed actually hp numbers? :S i dunno why they would do this so i don't fully believe it, but you gotta wonder how else they got such good ring numbers with the power/weight ratio given by nissan...unless they cheated?

HP numbers are under rated...
