Damn it I still havent seen one yet!! So sexy!!

Solid GSR YO 10-04-2008 11:01 AM

The only colour they look good in is black, due to that ugly dark grey bar in the front bumper.

Stugatts 10-04-2008 11:30 AM

red looks hot tooo !!! and white

1DA2NV 10-04-2008 01:05 PM

see one every day in Arurora, some daddy's girl drives it a white one

Solid GSR YO 10-04-2008 03:29 PM

p.s. the back still looks like a chevy colbalt

Cheetah 10-04-2008 03:34 PM

I saw one yesturday in Scarborough, blue one, I couldn't recognize what it was until it passed me going the opposite way, but I noticed the aggressive looking car from ahead.

luksta 10-04-2008 04:54 PM

i personally dont like the new nissan, seen it in white it and silver both no go in my opinion

Big Hairy Gino 10-04-2008 05:46 PM

Still havent seen one on the roads. Ive seen lots of Evo X's and IX's though.

Bob 10-04-2008 08:36 PM

They are ugly

Torqueless_In_Toronto 10-04-2008 09:35 PM

is that all everyone has to say... they don't like how it looks?

I guess im in the minority of people that buy and judge a car based on performance.

Solid GSR YO 10-04-2008 10:24 PM

you could buy better looking with good/same performance for the same price though

JEFFOS69 10-04-2008 11:54 PM

I think it looks pretty good (there are better looking cars but this one looks good too) Im not the biggest fan of the dark wheels though. Ive seen 3 in person 1 red, 1 gunmetal and 1 black. They all look pretty good - the red looks surprisingly good.

D1KINGZ 10-05-2008 02:07 PM

They look nice!!
But i'd still buy a g37 S over it

jugtoor 10-05-2008 04:57 PM

If you want performance buy a ZR1 :P

D C 2 10-05-2008 05:31 PM

no curves only edges but car's nice.

Bob 10-05-2008 05:51 PM

Same price: AM V8V vs. the GTR and I'd take the V8V in a heartbeat.

Sounds better, nicer interior, looks 100 times better, doesn't handle as well or as quick but it will always be an Aston Martin and not a Nissan.

My 2 cents on it.

and dont forget to mention if you think you are going to daily drive the AM better getz out the $$$.... the Nissan can be driving all day long without issue.

JDM_gsR 10-05-2008 07:17 PM

There are 2 in btown. 1 guy is only 25!

And who's to say the same won't be the case with the GTR?

If you're talking depreciation then we don't know how much the GTR will drop since it just came out.

If you're talking maintenance check out the price of many parts for the car. It's far from cheap.

At least you can go into purchasing an AM and know that the car will depreciate at a certain rate each year and exactly what upkeep will run you.

Plus most people buying the GTR aren't using it as a DD, that's coming straight from the owner of the Oakville Infiniti dealer.

acc 10-05-2008 07:54 PM

That car is sick, that part of Richmond Hill is in the hood for the money. (that pic is taken at Yonge & Hitech Rd area)

I would daily drive that car, looks amazing from the pics. I haven't seen one in person yet.

The GT-R should maintain its value, it’s a sought after car with a long history. Whether you daily drive a GT-R is not the point, the point is you can without issue. Although AM's are nice, I don’t think you want to daily drive one. I also have a hard time believing all things being equal a Nissan GT-R will cost more to maintain over time then an AM. I could be wrong.

ZR1 has more power but if I am not mistaken it also costs 30-35 K more then the GT-R

- the Canadian price of the ZR1 is $125,195 (Wheels.ca)

jdmteg101 10-06-2008 12:28 PM

prime example of a car that hasn't really depreciated alot.

Supra TT... So what really makes u think that the GTR will depreciate like every other nissan?

jugtoor 10-06-2008 01:01 PM

yeah but the ZR1 is a monster and the magnetic ride control is turning heads. This car can go from track monster to cruiser with the touch of a button or turn of a knob can't remember which. GTR isn't doesn't has as forgiving a ride. Plus the ZR1 just looks sex, then again I am bias because i'm looking to pick up a c6 in may. This financial crisis is really driving the prices down on used corvettes in the states.

Oh yeah and i'm not to keen on paddle shifting regardless of whether its faster or not. I love clutch, my left foot would be bored.

Bob 10-06-2008 01:19 PM

ZR-1s are also getting marked up $75,000 by some dealers above MSRP

I doubt that's the case for long, but it's the case right now nonetheless.

Supras can be had down south for much less than you think. Sure they've kept their value up here but that's due to low #s and a larger market. Now that they are 15 years old you will see many brought up and sold for much less, driving the market down.

Check the autotrader and I'm sure you'll see a few US cars.

As for the GTR, Nissan/Infiniti has taken a page out of the BMW handbook. $3,800 for pads and rotors for the GTR, no third party options for now and maybe going forward. If it's that much for pads/rotors, just imagine for the rest of the car. Heck, that's more than my Ferrari.

Markets have a tendency to normalize vehicles, BMWs depreciate quickly for many reasons but that's one of the primary ones. The GTR will likely follow the same path IMO.

jugtoor 10-06-2008 01:33 PM

Hey bob there already taking orders on the 2010 zr1s at MSRP...the states are collectively too poor to buy the ZR1 and 150,000 which seems to be what most dealers are asking for them. There are a few sitting in dealer lots already greedy bastards

Bob 10-06-2008 01:38 PM

They've been taking deposits with people assuming it would be at MSRP, then the car arrives with a giant mark up.

A bunch of people have walked away and they seem to be continuing with the mark up.

Here's one example...

http://fatlinesites.com/bob/original.jpg

jugtoor 10-06-2008 02:42 PM

Yeah thats true but the main supporting dealers on the corvette forum are now gauranteeing it for 2010.But yeah i've heard some pretty bad stories about hte dealer mark ups its too bad GM can't control the pricing they might even start losing loyal customers because of this type of BS but what can you expect from stealerships right?

Greco 10-06-2008 02:48 PM

There should be tons of after-market support for the GT-R, however how any manufacturer can justify 3800 for pads and rotors is beyond me. That being said having seen the GT-R in person the rotors are huge....

01TypeR_integra 10-06-2008 03:49 PM

ive seen plentyof Blue devils in the US selling at msrp.........not in cali, az, or nv, but out in like iowa , nebraska you can find them........im so tempted to sell my c5 z06 and grab a c6 z06.......

my only dilemna is just curious to see what the first batch on zr1's will be priced at when they are a year or so old......... part of me wants to hold off for a couple of years

01TypeR_integra 10-06-2008 03:51 PM

Somebody told me that the new GTR is not performance part friendly and theres actually a sticker or it was written in the manual that any aftermarket parts would void all warranties...... i also heard that if you change the rims or even change the make of tire that the GTR comes with it will actually throw engine codes

Greco 10-06-2008 07:09 PM

Amuse has already managed to squeeze out 600 HP with basic bolt on's and tuning...

g2tegg 10-06-2008 07:26 PM

I would definately take the gt-r over anything else for the price that it goes for. IMO I think the car looks amazing. Cant wait to see one on the road

JEFFOS69 10-07-2008 11:06 AM

20k USD for a new tranny in the GTR and its not covered under warranty.

That seems pretty reasonable considering i've heard that Nissan has considerably downplayed actually hp numbers? :S i dunno why they would do this so i don't fully believe it, but you gotta wonder how else they got such good ring numbers with the power/weight ratio given by nissan...unless they cheated?

Greco 10-07-2008 04:50 PM

HP numbers are under rated...
