All buttoned up:

I forget the final position of the gears but the cams were set to Skunk2's recomended settings:

Intake
Open at 24deg BTDC (1mm)
Peak lift at 98 deg ATDC
Close at 50deg ABDC (1mm)

Exhaust
Open at 56deg BBDC (1mm)
Peak lift at 105deg BTDC
Close at 17det ATDC (1mm)

Some current engine shots as the engine awaits to be reinstalled:

A close-up showing how the pluming for the Endyn breather is supported with a bracket I fabricated a couple days ago. This bracket also supports the engine wire harness. The factory manifold bracket will now make a nice paper weight.

The only other person that I have seen as meticulous as you with pictures and details is Trenell.

Good Job Doug.

hey doug, any particular reason you went with the ferrea over another company, such as the skunk2's?

CO SIGN

I bet you Doug is still gonna rip him a new one on the track, so technically he's still gonna be losing to a Civic! Hahahaha :finger:

Answer is quite simple:

Ferrea only makes valve train components and have been doing that for many years. If they didn't know what they were doing they would have gone bust long ago. They have several B-series valve spring packages depending on your requirements. I would bet that no other racing company has as much invested on this particular part of the B-series engine.

Gord Bush who has built many B-series racing engines says Ferrea is the company to go to if you do not want to take chances.

It’s the same reason I went with Carrillo rods... its all they do.

I’m sure there are many people who have had great success with other company’s valve train components. I just wanted to reduce my chances of failure.

^^ Nah, haven't you heard, autox'ers always make good track drivers, but not necessarily the other way around.
