B18 to a B16 Transmission Swap
So after having all of my transmission problems I bought a transmission from a crx. I just did some work on it last weekend and I'm almost done, I have the tranny all in place sitting on the mounts. I just have to hook everything back up and I'm currently waiting for 2 ball joints and a C.V. boot to arrive. Here are some pictures.
The new clutch. I was on a budget and saw mixed reviews on these clutch's so I thought, why not find out for myself. In total it costed me $160 shipped to my door. It included: Clutch, it said it was a Stage 2. The only thing I noticed were the springs were double springed. Pressure plate, alignment tool, pilot bearing, and throw-out bearing.
Pulled out.
So when I pulled out my old clutch this is how I found it.
New and old clutch.
The pressure plate I bought had some bad machining marks on it that werent in a good pattern for a clutch so I fluffed it up. This should also help the clutch break-in period.
Clutch and pressure plate installed.
The new and old tranny.
We had some troubles getting a good grip on the tranny from above so we made a handle that would bolt into where one of the tranny mounts would go.
So its almost complete! Hopefully I'll have it back on the road soon.
