Okay, i've had a previous idle problem. I had the hunting between 1000-2500 rpms problem. Which was fixed by tightening the plastic thing on the FITV. NOW my car idles like a peice of crap while warming up. Winter or Summer it doesnt matter. Worse in the winter tho. My car sputters and almost dies if i dont give it a little bit of gas for atleast 30 seconds while it tries to warm up. It idles up and down between maybe 100 and 500 RPMS. Kinda gay since i have a remote starter and the car will start but will just die. This is what i have replaced on my stupid idle journey.

I HAVE NO VACUUM LEAKS

I dont think it can be the EGR since its a manual transmission. Could it be the fuel pressure regulator?

I also have a weird remote starter problem which could be maybe related to this problem maybe. WHEN I REMOTE START THE CAR, IT WONT EVEN START. it will crank for like 20 seconds sounding like it really wants to start but it wont!

I searched on G2IC, but everyone's problems are when the engine is already warmed up.

It took me 6 months to figure out my last idle problem and now another 6 have passed with this stupid problem. Any help would be appreciated?

It's the distributor, more specifically the Ignitor within the distributor. I have your very same problem. And it fix it right away. After my searching Distributor King had the best price around with lifetime warrenty.

Also check the wiring to the IACV. I once tore mine and took me a while to figure out the IACV wasn't getting any juice. Tres annoying.

Is your coolant bleed properly?

also if the ignitor in the distributor is off by .1 is will mess with you idle. Mine idle kept dropping and bouncing between 100-900rpm and would never stay steady. I tried all the other thing that you did as well. It turned out to be the distributor. I bought two used ones, before I decided to grab a new one from distributor king. Now my idle is fixed.

Other than that, check to make sure all you belts are tightened properly.


What voltage is you tps sensor putting out while closed? Did you calibrate it at all after?

I only changed the tps sensor, i didnt check how much voltage its putting, but ill try that.

I think ill change my High Performance Ignition wires, they're pretty old. I took a look at them today and theres some corrosion build up around a couple of them, so ill just replace em and see what happens.

That could be your problem right there. You gotta calibrate the tps sensor when you replace it.

Checked it and the TPS is fine. Although i dont think it could be the TPS because if it was then i would have a constant ilding problem. I only have the problem while warming up. Which makes me wonder what would changing Spark Plug Wires and a Distributor Cap do considering they operate the same in both hot and cold temperatures. It has to be something that changes when its hot or cold.

Could it be a clogged cat? On my old car i had a big problem with backfire once and found out it was my clogged cat, but it never had trouble starting.

I wasn't talking about the distributor cap. I'm talking about the Ignitor inside the distributor. It's what fires the signal thru the cap,wires, spark plug. A ignitor does behave differently when it's either hot or cold.

You could buy a new ignitor for $180 or a whole new distributor for $190 shipped.

It's your choice, that's the only thing left that you haven't already replaced, unless your not being honest. Try the spark plugs and wires first and see if that helps.

Well i still have my scrap integra laying around, maybe ill just replace the ignitor from the old engine and see what happens.
