You better have alot of money; invest in some damn good tools; and buy beer for your buddies that will be helping you.

I agree with Kickz!

Be smart the first time and Change your Waterpump, oil pump, Timing belt, New clutch, either resurface the OEM Flywheel or get a nice aftermarket flywheel.

Honda sells a kit, complete gasket kit it is about $400 (some of the TI vendors may be able to get it cheaper) This changes all of the gaskets on the longblock (head and bottem end)

Also get a new distributor cap and Rotor, Plug wires and spark plugs.

These are all things I WISH I had done 6 years ago when I started getting into swapping Honda Engines. It just makes thing 100% more easier and reliable.

Another wise investment is to set aside $3-400 for Tuning, which IMO is Essential to having a properly running swapped Honda Transplant. You will get max potential Fuel efficiency and drivability with your freshly swapped Engine.

my 0.2 cents.

b4 I went Boost, I would spank B20 Vtec Cars all day long with my All motor Poor Man's Type R Set up. Its all about tuning! Yes I had almost every imaginable bolt on. IMO what Really saved me was Lightweight wheels, Type R Tranny, 8lb Flywheel and a wicked SICK street Tune.

I'll have to dig for it, but I have the dyno I did at Tag and I made 211WHP on a Stock block B18C GSR bottem end w/ new OEM waterpump and fuel pump, headgasket w/ ARP head studs.

b16 Head consisted of:
Professional Products 68mm TB
Port Matched AEBS Intake Manifold
Goldgen Eagle Fuel Rail w/ B&M FPR & marshall Liquid filled FPG
RC310 CC Injectors
Civic Type R cams
Full Ferrea Racing Valvetrain w/ bronze valveguides.

Hytech Headers and full 2.5" Mandrel Exhaust.

On 94 octane.

B20 Vtec is nice, but you MUST invest a good chunk of change to have a Healthy Reliable running Motor!

If I could go back in time I would have done the following:

B16 complete swap. All new gaskets and seals. Complete tune up.

t3/t4 Turbo set up w/ dyno tune/street tune.

Everything should run you around 6k-7k with good quality products. You will make 300WHP+ on a good tune. And it will last you for Years with a proper tune.

Im sure ZMAN can attest to this!

hells ya. I made 250whp @ 8psi on a very basic setup with 2.5" exhaust on a stock block b16.

ITR's are good, but can still be pricey. Definately change the timing belt/water pump and clutch (if you can afford it) before doing any swap.
