steering wheel vibrates....
When i drive my car on the highway, going about 100-120 kph i notice the steering wheel vibrating less then a cm back and forth. At first i thought it was the uneven roads, but somtimes on the smooth roads it happens and the unsmooth roads it doesn't vibrate at all. I thought maybe its cause my tires need balancing but my tires are balanced and i just got an alignment from gilmans. Any other sugguestions what it might be? i was thinking tie rods? what else would affect steering? any help is apprciated guys. Thanks

Any signifigant play in your front suspension or steering components could translate into steering wheel vibration. What's more, even balanced wheels can have a "wobble" to them, if there is uneven runout on the rims or a high spot in the sidewall of the tire. Try rotating your wheels front to back and see if that does anything to alleviate the problem. If it solves it, then you can probably narrow it down to one of the two rear wheels. Make sure your wheels are properly torqued aswell, I've seen people complain about a wobble and their wheel was loose!

But check all the front end bits from lugs, to control arms, to bushings. If it's connected to the front wheels look for play. When the car is parked, grab one of the wheels and pull as hard as you can on the top. The rim shouldn't move. If you feel any clunks or movement trace it to where it's coming from.
