Default Power Antenna

What's up everyone? Lately I've been having issues with my power antenna. When I turn off my stereo my power antenna don't go down. When I turn the car off the antenna still doesn't go down. Last night I insert the key into the ignition and turn it once to get power (without actually starting the car) and I hit the power on my stereo I can hear a clicking near the antenna as if it is trying to get it going, but it won't budge. I tried spraying some WD-40 and later learn that WD-40 can actually make the situation worse. Can anyone help???

Hi,

It sounds like the motor in the power antenna is going dead.

Metra makes an aftermarket Power Antenna Kit for around $80.

We replace them all the time.

It is a common problem unfortunally

Thanks for your time

I don't really care for radio either and I tried to push it down but either it's stuck or i'm afraid I will break it.

I don't think WD40 would cause any harm as long as you clean a few times over the winter seasons.

I've been doing it for like 10 years
