Ok so my buddys cousin is down from north carolina and apparently had a 2002 type r rsx brought over from japan i havent seen the car yet but im gonna go look at it tommorow but i dont really believe my friend (he knows nothing about hondas) he just claims it has honda badges and a red valve cover and that he converted it fromt RHD to LHD for the states. So what should i look for on this car to prove its a Hype R. I believe it should have a recaro interior? correct? and what engine code should i be looking for. Any more info

 

the guage cluster will have "Type R" inside the cluster. steering wheel has a red "H", front headlights are blackhoused and will come with stock oem HID. front red "H" emblem, rear has red "H" as well and will not say RSX or anything on the left side it will say "INTEGRA" on there. interior depending on what color the car is, it'll vary from red, blue and black. recaro's. and if i'm not mistaken door panels come with red upholstry. real R will have Brembo's up front sitting on 17's.

-> also for what i know, if your friend converted lhd to rhd, he would have, have to cut the firewall and re-mount everything but it is posible.

So guys it was a type R! i talked to him really cool guy actually, he explained why he had to take out his recaro interior and switch to left hand drive due to north carolina laws. He actually owns and engine importing place down there and has another integra with a b20 vtec turbo!!!! I cant believe i witnessed a 2002 Integra Type R

 

what he do with the recaro's?

wow must've been alot of work to cut the firewall and put a usdm firewall there.
damn, mine as well just buy a Type S and throw Type R goodies on it.

 

He probably sold the recaros at his shop but i have his email so maybe you could talk to him about getting some. And yea it doesnt make much sense for him to do the Type R but he wanted something rare and the guy had the money so he went for it i guess. He has owned some other sweet cars like a VW golf R32 and ----.
