Default Need help ASAP with some quick advice.

We'll i've had this car for 2 months now but didn't know when the clutch was last replaced.

Heres the funny thing.

[1] When I leave the car off for a while and come back to drive a few hours later I have a problem with putting it into gear.
- In order to put it in gear I have to wait a while for the car to idle below 1,000 rpm approximately 750 rpm.
[2] at that point I get some torque back from the clutch
[3] As I drive more in start and stop traffic it starts toget better as if the clutch were at its regular state
[4] As I drive for longer distances on the highway in 5th gear it starts to do the same thing as if it were off
[5] The clutch then starts to stop working

What could it be? its very wierd.

I assume it needs a new clutch or possible a transmission flush cause it seemed to be lookng low, may explain why it works when the car idles after a while.

Please help asap, plan on bring it to the mechanic tommorrow morning and want to know what to expect or to tell him to fix. thx.

lol that is pretty weird id assume it is ure clutch too...

worst that could happen is u would need new tranny all together but cross ure fingers its only clutch

either way there are tons of guys on here who would sell u a quality tranny for cheap so dont sweat too much

Yea, lets hope its just the clutch.

And you should really be asking the former owner questions about maintenance before buying the vehicle. I mean, on a manual transmission, thats one of the first questions you ask. Original clutch or whether its been replaced, timing belt- when was it done. Water pump..etc etc...Depending on the km, I suggest you check this stuff to if you haven't done so.

I think I know what the problem is.

I think its the throttle plate because its NOT the transmission due to the fact when I am able to change gears its smooth and their are no problems.

Its something in the clutch.

PS. I have all the maintance records and everything, could just be something loose or the orginal clutch is gone.

Nevermind, I have a leak somewhere, added more DOT3 and the clutch was better but noticed the leak under the car and it gets looser with extended time.

your car is in control by a evil ghost..i'm just playing, maybe its tranny, get the tranny flush done and then see if it still dose it, then it maybe be the clutch or the tranny..
buh if your going to change the clutch might as well change tranny as well too you know?...save some money..just in case if your tranny gets busted...

It can't possibly be the trans or even the clutch, or other wise when fluid is being pump to the clutch it wouldn't be working. If it was the clutch it would be slipping causing me to stall alot.
Its something hydrolic for sure because when I pump the clutch it becomes more effective.
