Default ls vtec

hey guys iam a daliy driver and i love the reliabilty of my stock ls motor. recently ive wanted to make more power with my engine. what i was thinking of doing was doing a ls vtec conversion. just the basic convision with out rebuilding the block. i was looing to produce an extra 30-40 hourse power, but at the same time i want to keep the reliabilty of my engine because iam a daliy driver. what do you guys think i should do. lets hear some opinions.

30-40 whp can be attained with a complete induction and exhaust system

you won't find one for a low redline. It doesn't mean that if you swap to say a skunk2 or blox that your low end will suck ***, it just means it won't be as perfect as the oem one for that application. Between 2000rpm - 6000rpm, but the oem one is crap once you add on a exhaust system anyways, so it's already out of it's working range.

You got your exhaust trying to push out more exhaust gases because of the larger diameter piping and straight thru muffler, but you have the stock intake manifold holding the exhaust system back from it's full potential because it's not allowing enough air in for what the exhaust wants to put out.

Bottom line, sooner or later your gonna have to replace it if your serious about performance. 80% of people stop at Intake/Header/Exhaust

I have researeched it a bit and have found that the peak powerband starts at about 6200 rpm on most IM's but are you saying that i will lose some power below 6 grand, becasue i mean taht really only leaves me with like 700-1000 rpm of powerband.

With my full exhaust (header back) and intake, i really feel the pull at 5000rpm
