Default Installing Deck

I need to install a deck and i was wondering if you need a mounting kit to install one on a 96 integra coupe. I heard from some people that the mounting kits dont fit very well and they look kind of ugly, so is there a way to do it without?

I want to know how other integra owners installed their decks

Thanks!

Hasnt anybody replaced their stock head unit in their integra?

Please help me out... I'm sure atleast 50% of the integra owners here have a system in their car

you can use a mounting kit.. or do the OEM style install

mounting kit is pretty decent... it sits nicely and doesn't look too bad. the OEM style install may take a bit more work though..... follow the article.

PS. get a wire harness too if you don't want to cut your factory connector.

It looks the same as stock except the pocket is a bit smaller... If you do the OEM style install, the deck sits more in with the dash and doesn't stick out as much as using the mount kit.

yeah i heard it was ugly because the deck pops out too much or something..... what do you think? Should i just buy the kit, or try the OEM install?

And is there only 1 type of kit for the integra at Future Shop or do they have a couple different ones?

all the kits are the same...

the oem style install is a bit more challenging though.. but worth it in the end.

So nobody has pictures of the inside of their car so i could see what it looks like?

I guess i'll just buy the mounting kit... sounds like the easier way out

Did you get your deck installed yet? I have a picture of my deck installed with a mounting kit if want to see.

I also have a brand new mounting kit for sale... never used, $25

Here's the only picture I could find of a deck installed with a mounting kit in my car... I didn't realize how blurry it was and I'm too lazy to go take more pics.

Basically, it looks close enough to stock... the only difference being that the pocket is a little smaller width-wise.

The kit I have is brand new, I opened it up but never used it
