Default ignition? battery? no idea.

Heres the thing where im confused. The car starts fine 99% of the time. but the other day i accidently killed my battery, and today it was fine in the morning. now heres the thing. I tried to start my car about 30 min ago, and it just went click...i tried again..it half started..then click again..and again..so i waited 10 seconds..and then it started. now my volt meter reads 12.2 volts. which is .4 more then what it needs to start. So here are my options lemme know what u guys think?

A) Alternator
B) Battery is pouched
C) Somethings going on with the wires, plugs, cap, rotor, Or ignitor
D) Fuel pump.
E) Engines Shot again.

At the moment i have a dry cell redtop battery, with a fuel pressure reg, set at 42 pounds *this is where the car runs the most stable, with the most power without burning rich*

Maybe starter - if its just clicking and not turning over (battery has juice)

Give your starter a whack with the end of a screwdriver a few times and try it. If it works its the starter but its on the way out so look at getting a rebuilt one (rebuilt ones usually work exactly like a new one and are much cheaper)

a fully charged battery should read 12.66 volts. it can start your car lower than that, but you're making the battery work more

If you've left a load on and it's drained the battery a simple trickle charge for a few hours will bring it back up. That's why you're hearing clicks when you try and start. It doesn't have enough juice to turn your engine over if that's the case.

If you have a system my recommendation would be to get an Optima yellow top next. you need the deep-cycle technology that comes with yellow tops to sustain your system and your car simultaneously. They recover faster and can take heavy loads. Your red top is strictly for starting.

ya that's the starter solionid, you can even take it apart clean it up and just sand the plunger thingy (kinda hard to explain) a little bit, put it back together, and it should start. we did it a while ago back on my mom's integra.

We did? Ok, you just have to get some $.59 copper contacts, install them in starter, sand, grease and blamo! New starter.

what type of a click will you hear if the starter is gone? like when i first get into my car and turn the key it doesnt start. I hear the Main fuel relay click and the fuel pump turn on. But when i trun the key, nothing. I turn it a few more times and it starts up. Not sure if its the starter or wat?

I was also thinking it was the clutch switch.

What you guys think

I would suggest having your battery load tested, if okay, then proceed to test starter, possible you have a flat spot in your starter. Contact me at sanj032@hotmail.com If you required a used integra starter, I have one.

Hope this helps, good luck!

You can't buy them from Honda, but you can buy them from Toyota.

I replaced mine during summer
