If you get some simple body filler, and willing to sand it down and paint it yourself will cost you about 40 bucks. I got a place that matches the paint for you in a spare can. I have done this to my bumpers,Hatch, Mirrors and spolier and turned out great pm me if you need there number.

 

yeah. provided it is mostly surface rust and you don't have to do too much rebuilding you should be able to bondo it properly. not a fan of bondo personally but it should work pretty good in this case.
