Default hondata s200

im going to purchase a used hondata s200 i just wanted to know is this everything i will need to tune my ls turbo setup? i was reading on the hondata forum but there not very helpfull he just keeps telling everyone to upgrade to the s300? Do i have to get chipped before i can use it with my ecu? sorry if its a noob question im new to turbo builds!!

you will need a chipped obd1 ecu to use the hondata with. Unless you have the hondata software you will not be able to tune the s200. If its a s200b (b meaning boosted) then it'll be fine for getting your boosted car tuned, but if not, you'll have to pay to upgrade it to unlock the boosted feature.

The s300 is the do-it-yourself version that comes with everything you need and the software to tune it yourself.

isn't it cheaper to just get it done on the dyno?
also do you have the setup installed already? its usually far more effective to tune the ecu AFTER things like cams and turbo's are installed.
