gas milege

ok my light came on in burlington and i made it all the way to north brampton no prob (after making a detour down derry to find gas, but i didn`t have my wallet on me :S)
after filling it up with the needle so far buried that it wasn`t even registering on the gauge anymore (i drove for i ---- you not 65k with the light on) i managed to squeeze only 40.3 litres into her and it was right full. so i`d say i definitely have a forty liter tank

Am I missing something here?..the size of the tank is 50L, I dont think anyone with half a brain would dispute that, its listed right in the manual, no need for guess work.

I would say you could easily get to Niagara from T.O. doing normal highway speeds, but I wouldnt risk it much further than that.

lol you squeezed 40.3 litres into it, and you only have a 40L tank? Are you sure it was bone dry, did you run out of gas?

yeah when i pulled into the station it was stuttering. and i overfilled the tank a bit. kinda spilled out.
why the hell would honda make the fuel light come on when you still have over a quarter tank? doesn't really make sense.
i'm not disputing the manual, i'm just telling what happened. if it is 50 then how come my car pretty much died at the gas station then filled up with 40.3l? ..........

Maybe you have a different size tank for some reason, I've also never really heard of "over-filling" with fuel splashing out. There are supposed to be safeguards that totally eliminate that.

k well i already have had my light on for 21 kms. and i have some gas in a jeery can so ill let you guys know how long mine goes... its a 1993 with a b18a so its comparable to the rest of you. although, i know this is not good for your car lol, so this better end it all lol and not have to do it again lol.

so far ive drove 41 kms, in street so stops and go's and some traffic. i put 3.8 litres in at 38 kms just to see, and my low fuel light cam on like right 2 kms later. so obviously it has a fair bit in there when the light goes on cus 4 litres made it pretty much stay on.

k so i've gone 61 kms. but to be honest, i had to go to an interview today at a shop and i didnt want to be late or run out so i put 20 in... dam. but still 61 and it didnt die is a lot. ill try it now 100% with my tank now. i only got like 3/5ths in there so ill keep you guys posted.

Actually it makes perfect sense, Honda, (and every other car manufacturer out there) is alerting you, that you are running low on fuel and down to your last 1/4 tank - or in this case 1/5 tank. There would be no point turning on the fuel light when the tank is near dry, as in many cases there would be nothing you can do about it.

teah thats true. too be honest i'm kinda confused now. cause i just drove over 80k with my fuel light on..... all the way from TO until niagara...... needle was so buried that it wasn't even on the guage anymore...
maybe my light is just messed.... i dunno
