Default engine stumbles

when i'm driving at low revs like under 2000rpm my engine is fine when i rev more it feels like the engine is struggling...in the morning my car wouldn't start so i changed the distributor. now i'm able to start the car but it doesn't seem to stop the stumbling prob. do u guyz think tat my fuel lines are clogged because i was having mileage probz b4 or could it be my O2 sensors.
any input from anyone would be appreciated.
thanx

i dunno one more thing i'm guessing could've happened would be tat i gave my car to my friend for a day and he washed the engine bay.....i think tats why my distributor got messed up and i dunno tat can also effect the plugs if the water went in right?
the mechanic told me to change my plugs and the wires.... i'm gonna give tat a try to see if tat does any good.....if its something big i'm gonna throw out my motor its pissing me off its already got around 240k...LOL

I doubt it's a headgasket. You'd know cuz your car would either be smoking and you'd be losing a lot of coolant.

Things to check:

Spark Plugs
Spark Plug Wires
Fuel Filter
is your clutch slipping?
are all your fluids top up?

Answer each of these questions, then we'd be able to help you more

what about the spark plugs?

Next step is to do a compression test

Then put your timing back to stock specs. 14-18 degree's

And if you meant the order the distributor fires, it's 1-3-4-2.
