engine stumbles

when i'm driving at low revs like under 2000rpm my engine is fine when i rev more it feels like the engine is struggling...in the morning my car wouldn't start so i changed the distributor. now i'm able to start the car but it doesn't seem to stop the stumbling prob. do u guyz think tat my fuel lines are clogged because i was having mileage probz b4 or could it be my O2 sensors.
any input from anyone would be appreciated.
thanx

you try changing your plugs?

nbk 11-14-2005 07:40 PM

yea the plugs have been done recently

95integra 11-14-2005 11:08 PM

its your head gasket, or the valves need adjusting. I have the EXACT same problem. if by any chance u find out what it is..TELL ME! but im almost 100% sure head gasket. check your compression if its all over the place..thats yer problem.

nbk 11-15-2005 01:23 AM

i dunno one more thing i'm guessing could've happened would be tat i gave my car to my friend for a day and he washed the engine bay.....i think tats why my distributor got messed up and i dunno tat can also effect the plugs if the water went in right?
the mechanic told me to change my plugs and the wires.... i'm gonna give tat a try to see if tat does any good.....if its something big i'm gonna throw out my motor its pissing me off its already got around 240k...LOL

95integra 11-15-2005 07:52 AM

head gasket. check if your motor shakes on idle. if it does...its pooched.

Eric D. 11-15-2005 08:59 AM

Do a compression check and see if one cylinder is way out of wack. What about wires? How recently was your fuel filter changed???

nbk 11-15-2005 10:19 AM

my wires do look bad btw how do u do the compression check?

Buff4Prez Yo 11-15-2005 12:38 PM

need to buy the gauge and there's an article on T-I

TwoSix 11-15-2005 01:57 PM

how much is a new head gasket?

WildoutWhiteGSR 11-15-2005 05:29 PM

I doubt it's a headgasket. You'd know cuz your car would either be smoking and you'd be losing a lot of coolant.

Things to check:

Spark Plugs
Spark Plug Wires
Fuel Filter
is your clutch slipping?
are all your fluids top up?

Answer each of these questions, then we'd be able to help you more

95integra 11-15-2005 07:39 PM

after labour..a hell of alot! ONLY worry about that if your burning white smoke out the back. if you dont have plums of white smoke it might be fine. and for white GSR..a blown head gasket wont always burn coolant.

nbk 11-15-2005 09:27 PM

i tired changing my ignition wires it din help instead for some reason i'm getting back fires now and my fuel filter/pump and clutch was done 6 months ago
thanx for the input btw.....one more thing could it be the intake manifold gasket leaking or the ignition timing...thats all i could find in the repair manual....i was gonna get a gsr swap anyways i think nows the time

nbk 11-15-2005 09:30 PM

ever since i bought this car all i had was problems :headbang:

WildoutWhiteGSR 11-15-2005 10:13 PM

what about the spark plugs?

Next step is to do a compression test

Then put your timing back to stock specs. 14-18 degree's

Platinum Playa 11-15-2005 10:48 PM

hmmm i have no clue, bring it in somewhere.

nbk 11-16-2005 09:15 AM

i changed my plugs and used a new set of wires and now its fine but for some reason my plugs were really dark and its only been like a 1-2 months since i changed them. thanx for the help everyone

TwoSix 11-16-2005 09:36 PM

what kinda of plugs and wires are you using?

95integra 11-16-2005 11:13 PM

if your misfiring its the dizzy. erg..where do u live..I had the exact same problems..an fixed the misfire. Its electrical most likely. go to crappy tire. get a battery check done. if its good. then check your distributer cap n rotor for carbon. if its not clean metal..u found the problem. actually ----! ok! get some fuel injection cleaner. run it with your gas. get the penzoil or w.e!!! do that twice! and it'll be gone! hell shoulda thought of that..thats how i got rid of my misfire.

And if you meant the order the distributor fires, it's 1-3-4-2.

nbk 11-18-2005 12:34 AM

i was looking for tat pic all over google lol couldn't find it. but thanx tat really helped

95integra 11-18-2005 07:39 AM
