You can buy yourself one of those bondo all in one body repair kits and it has all the instructions you need. When I was looking for pointers I just googled "DIY car body" or something along those lines.

if you have some where the moldings are, the holes they mount to are rotted. it'll have to be cut out and new metal will have to be welded in. to get the rust around the windshield, you'll have to pull it.

+2, getting it done right is always best if you don't want to see rust come back next season. I myself am cheap.

well it really depends on how the owner sees the car and how long they are planning on keeping it. For keeps = pay a shop, For Beater = DIY

Then just leave it as is, sadly sometimes rust looks a heck lot better then half *** bondo jobs.

as long as u have some idea how to do it you'll be ok, i did the rear quarter panels on my metro and so far they're lookin good (never done it before), just nervous to paint now...

+1 on cutting it out if its bad and putting new metal, i did that and it's worked pretty good so far..

post pics if you decide to DIY...ill post some of mine in a few days maybe

Good Luck!
