Default distributor plastic dust cover

i replaced my distributor cap and rotor today..and damm that screw holding the rotor was a bitch... anywyas as i opened it..."the plastic dust cover" of the distributor behind the rotor is loose...like the top is intact but the sides and bottom are loose... and when i was done...it sounds like its making a vibrating sound inside...

http://isomerica.net/~dpn/blogimages..._dustcover.jpg

thats not ours but the grey cover ...was loose...its not completely loose but if you wiggle it it really wiggles...

anyways i was wondering...if that's a big concern?...its just annoying but if i have to replace the whole dist...then ill just leave it if it doesnt affect anything.

did you maybe see why it is loose...something to make it loose cuz if I remeber it slides on and is snug so don't really understand why it's loose maybe snap some pics of your setup right now and we will see it better...

If there was oil, it may start splashing on the contact points. Replace the o-ring and dont worry about the cover.

What about timing? Mark/eye ball it back to the same location.
