Default car won't start....

Hello everyone,

I wanted to get my beater to my mechanic near my house to get it tuned up today.

Now I usually start it and run it every week. When I went to start it today, didn't start. So I kept trying and gave it some gas, usually works with this car.

Car kinda starts now but, when I does the whole motor starts to shake and the exhaust makes a put put put sound.

Lil help please.

ya its definatly sounds like a missfire but it could be somthing for the igintion system or fuel system bad plug, clogged injector, wiring to the injectors, clogged fuel filter bad cap or rotor, igntion wire, theres lots of possibilities.

Pull off one spark plug wire lead at a time while the motor is running and see it change idle, if one of them dosnt change the idle then that one is messed .

Hahaha that's tru, but only for usdm. EF's came with ZC motors stock... Mine is a dohc.

I can get it to start sometimes, sometimes it'll die on it's own, and sometimes it'll shake like i have mount inserts, but when i try to give it gas it'll die.

It cranks well, it just runs like a bag of ---- after. I've tried to pull the plugs, they look black and smell like gas.

I know all the plugs have spark. I tried that today. I think I might have flooded the cylinders though. Any know how I can get the gas out? I don't know where the fuel pump fuse is.

How do I check the dizzy?

Thank you all for your help. I'll keep you guys posted.

check for spark with everything conected then you could be geting a spark but to weak. that happend to my eg and threw me off tons , i had a distributor off a part out civc so i swaped and it fired no problem make sure the spark is blue not redish. and i f you think the plugs are wet take them out and let them dry.

Hey,
Take it to the mechanic and have them pull the code. I had the exact same issue. I'd have to gas it and it would eventually start. But sometimes I'd be stuck. It gave me a code to change distributor and it did the trick.
