I have a friend that installs them, and the paging rang is like 1 mile, and they are fully loaded to do pretty much anything you want.

Ill be going for an alarm system this month or beginning of July. Ill be going for a compustar 2 way alarm. A good one would come around 300. Depending what kind you want.

I talked to my friend, he said it will be between $300-$600 with install, it all depends on what alarm you want, and what extra stuff you want it to do.

well spike i want one with adjustable shock sensor, a long *** paging range, dont care for remote start or auto locks really just want an alarm needs to be 2-way nice remotes too dont wanna have anything ugly lol but i know most alarms come with remote start or auto locks so i can sacrifice as for brands i know the top brands are compustar and viper i would perfer pro series but once its good and reliable .. if theres anything IMPORTANT im missing just add it in there for me.

Talk to "Davis" from Selective Sound in Mississauga. This is the guy who installed my deck. The same day I was getting my deck done, he was installing a Viper Alarm system in an another customer's car. I was listening to him speak and he knows his sh*t. Not to mention he even added a couple of extra security features into my deck install.

Not sure if it will help but you can mention that I suggested him. He did an install for a clarion vx409 in my Integra last saturday.

Decent/Competitive Pricing, and he knows his stuff, worth a quote.

(905) 826-8998

Note: I also know he gives deals to people if they say there from the 7th Gen Civic Forums... lol.

Yes Davis is a good guy and has done lots of work for the people over on the civic forum.

Also: Be straightup with him, explain to him how you have gotten other quotes and looked at other alarm systems. He will explain the pro's and con's of each system and will most likely match/beat the prices you've gotten elsewhere. When I was getting my deck installed, I mentioned another quote to him and offered to give him their business card so he could call if he wanted to confirm the price. Sometimes the honesty helps.

Here I pulled this off the 7th Gen Civic Forums...

It's regarding a viper alarm system, but it's dated 2005.

I googled "Selective Sound 7th Gen Civic"

---------------

thanx for the props pal!!! (blushes )

i spoke to Davis and he said if anyone here at 7thGen is interested he'll offer them the same deal..
320hv (w/ 2 remotes)
includes power doors off the remote if car is so equipped
free second siren

$199.00 + tx

just call him and tell yer on 7thGen

My teggy came with a Compustar, 2 way pager w/ remote starter.

Personally I didn't like it so much b/c of the false alarms and the inability to bypass security zones.

Bypass is important b/c let's say that one of your door sensor fails, the compustar will not activate so you have NO alarm. It's all or nothing.

My Viper (on another car) allowed that. If the alarm is activated, the LED blinks, but the potential thief has NO clue that one of your sensors isn't working.

Just my 2 cents.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Clifford. I had Cliffords installed on my first Integra and my first Civic by Kennedy Hi Fi (when they were still on Kennedy) and I really liked them.

I've also heard good things about the Compustar but I'm not a big fan of those huge remotes with the big antennas.
