are you talking about in-dash dvd players? they all fit, but the top of the screen hits the temp control buttons when it flips out, no big deal really.

the single din ones that motorize into the chassis usually hit the climate controls, even if you mount it in the lower pocket, or at least block them.

get a double din.

i got an in dash that fits in perfectly. but would have bought a double dim if i had the money. but i think the kenwoods allow you to move it out a bit more if you want an indash one.

^that's correct, the Kenwood's motor works different, it actually fully outputs the monitor and than flips up, unlike the pioneer ones, go to best buy and check how the motor works.
and the kenwood is able to slide outwords an inch or two as well to accomidate the heater controls but you will have them touch the controls.

I third that one. The kenwood is probably one of the only options if you wanna go single din. Pioneer wont fit unless you do a bit of modifications (but probably not worth the headache in the end)

i wouldn't go double din however, that ---- is way too low for you to see if you wanted to use it to its potential.

thx people, u guys know what i am asking. i guess single din kenwood is my best choice, and double din is too low to watch and get stolen easily.
btw is any kind of single din kenwood have the special fuction as u guys mentioned? which kenwood is good and have decent price?

well, with a single din, usually only the bottom portion of the faceplate is removable, so there's no difference in terms of theft deterance. with a single din, it's usually the monitor and cd transport in the dash and a separate brain mounted elsewhere. with a double din, it's all one unit. so whether they take part of it or the whole thing, your screwed regardless. as far as visablity with the 2 din goes, most of them have tilt features.

does anyone have a picture of a kenwood installed? (i'm assuming it's one of the newer ones)

Looks like the KVT-819, my boy has one that LOOKS just like that one. I know the other models, KVT-61... and the KVT-71... do not have the lcd panel for track info or time with the screen closed. Also the kvt-819 has 5 volt preouts, the 61..and 71... only have 2v.

Order online @ www.bestbuy.ca.

I actually copied this from their site:
The integrated DVD/CD drive can play several different formats, including DivX file formats, and you can even connect a rear-view camera for safe reversing. Finally, the exclusive Z-Action mechanism provides maximum clearance from dashboard overhang and versatile screen tilt flexibility.

Hope it helps

don't get a single din for your g3 it will annoy the ---- out of you eventually, trust me i just spent 2 years with one and its not worth it the double din looks so much better and really complements the interior of the car.
