How would I make my b18b1 a built all motor beast

Iva been on google all morning, and because its such a specifac topic, I cannot find the right answer. So i turn to toronto integras.

How much money is needed aswell.

I do not want to port/polish my engine because no shops out there are to be trusted anymore.

Simplest and cheapest - get the ECU flashed/chipped, headers, full exhaust, and upgrade your intake. Depending on how hardcore you want to get into it, you could consider - upgraded throttle body, fuel injection system/rails, all the way up to internal engine work.

Money, time and effort. How much = how fast

But there is lots to do, that's for sure.

I thinking cams, cam gears, eagle rods, skunk2 intake mani, then throddle body.

I want to make it like those engines you see that are like 250hp all motor

ur list seems to be heading the right way keep in mind u need a proper ecu to tune and u need to get dyno'd as well with proper internals u shud hit 230-240 to the wheels this is why most ppl go K-swap because prices are around the same for the swap and the rebuild and the K motor hits the same amount of power stock, port and polish is a good idea too, there ARE shops u can trust if u really wanted to get it done..good luck with the build thou

3000. give or take like 800.

thats if you want 250 whp.... thats a ---- load for an all motor stock bore b18.... i dought you could even get that much even if you went with race fuel...

You'll need high compression at most aorund 11.7 on pump gas 91 octane, really agressive cams, and a ---- load of flow work ie. head work, intake, i/m, t/b, header, exhaust.

for 250 whp, your going to have to bore it out to at least a 2 litre, which will mean you'll have to sleeve it, costing almost a grand to do that. then your gonna want high revs to make that kinda power so your gonna have to do alot of bottom end work. bearings, rods, pistons (obviously cus you want high compression) etc. theres a lot of work envolved, plus labour lol.

you could go for a more achievable goal of like 200whp, which is still a ---- load. i know a setup all motor ls with stage 3 cams, comopression at 11.5, his rods shot peened, rebuild bottom end with trimetal bearings, water pump etc, and with all the basics like i/h/e and i/m, and he got around 192whp after the tune..... but that was on stock bore. lots to think about man.

*** n/a, its way too much money.
turbo is cheaper and can get more power.
hell stock b18b1 can handle 270whp as long as you have good software. all that can be achieved for 1500-2000$ if you are patient.
i do not see a point of building full n/a. unless you are ballin and got money to burn it doesnt make any sense to me.

Like what kind of problems?
Clutch slipping? Yes more power, need to upgrade. Blow by? Work out a good pcv system.
As long as you got a proper tune, you'll be fine. I doubt you would be running the car at 15+psi daily. Maybe 7-8psi and occasionally turn it up. That's when a electric boost controller comes in handy and you can change the setting for you wastegate inside the car.
Properly built turbo car will last just as long and if not longer than a fully built n/a.

Daily? Is there a point in riding with 270whp all the time? Imo no, as I said you drive it with low boost and when you wanna pull on somebody that's when you use electric boost controller, set it to 15 or whatever psi and go from there.

But what if you're driving beside a cop and the g/f decides to turn the volume up, but gets the wrong controller...

250whp on a n/a b18a/b? not gonna happen. if it does it certainly won't be for $3000. try closer to $8000

if you want a machine shop in your area. go to The Balancing Act in St. Kitts. they did all my block work.

depends on what you want done. you gotta understand that a fully built all motor setup is an easy $3000+

there isn't a thing in my engine that went untouched and it cost me $4000 by the time i got it installed. not including the free block and head.

Oh man I want you to get around 200 whp. I'm looking to do that same things except I'm going for like 300whp with the type r. Without boost all na power baby way to go. It is expensive unless you go boost but like you I think it just causes problems and not a fan of boost some people will hate me but it's a cheap way to go can't wait to read the lcomments after this post lol

300whp n/a? Wow... You must be smoking something. How much money you willing to drop, and even then unless you end up sleeving to 2.0 and getting absolutely everything replaced with fully built head, machined etc...that's a high number to shoot for, remember you have a small motor. Also I highly doubt you would want to daily such car. With the cams that will be in, you will be idling rough...since you will need very high lift cams.

yea guys come there a honda 4 banger. yes lovely motors, but really not ment for high power n/a. go buy a v8

when it comes to machining your motor what do you want? honing, bore out, resurfacing, decking, sleeving etc? machining can mean A LOT. this is no offense at all overdose, but research a lot. i have been through 2 b16's, a b20 and now my stock b18, and i still havent started a big project yet because i just recently decided on my plan. even after 2 years of having these motors in my civic and now having my teg. when it comes to an enigne there a lot to think about. i am in no rush to jump inot things myself, a master piece takes some time

hell, im taking care of everything but the engine for now. it runs really well, is clean and has no problems ill rock it till it blows then built it. right now im saving for my suspension setup in the spring/summer, did my interior in the fall and my stereo, and now im doing my soundproofing/body work. when im done all that, then ill do my motor, no sense in having a fast cat that doesnt look good, sound good inside, and cant hadle worth a ---- lol.

i read it but nothing is said about numbers.... unless there is more than page 5? but hell it can be done, but so me the average joe that can afford custom length rods and a dart block (lol jrp tried to sell me there 84mm one for 2400 lol) and everything esle required lol. turbo ftw. for all that money, you could do a 600whp turbo app.

Im going turbo. It will be done next winter. I want to go big on turbo. But still make it a daily driver. If i get turbo. I want a maximum of 400hp

Graham over @ Canadian Cylinder Heads, he's done some good work.

IMHO your targeted 250WHP out of a b18b1 is doable but it's going to cost you, and in the end. How reliable will it be? How's the idle going to be, will the motor be stalling @ traffic lights due to the killer cams? Do you care about that?

For that money just boost the motor, the cost/benefit ratio is so much better. N/A is great and all but wouldn't you rather be blown...?

I dont like being blown. Id rather build it up and make sure the oil is good, then then stick it hard down the line and finish with a big bang.

I was considering turboing like when I first got my car. But then when I got the type r motor I heard they are not go to turbo. If someone can prove that
wrong or tell me why that's true i would be very greatful. Overdose just turbo my old motor it was running great and my mechanic was telling me to turbo
it instead of swapping it said there is lots of life still in it.

Let me know guys about the type r motor being turbo. Thanks in advance.

Why wouldnt a type r handle turbo. Of course it can be turbod.

Lol got nothing else to use and the god da. Return button and space bar are way go close lol... Ya but I heard for type r's it's not recommended to turbo like I'm saying what I heard. Well what I'm thinking on doing is new skunk2 intake manifold. Cams and port and polish. Then if everything seems okay turbo is a plus lol would be great. But I'm not really going for track use just on ocasion I want it more for shows like importfest and jdm shows lol it's my goal to be in importfest come this september in Toronto

The skunk2 intake mani is i think 600$. then you need the throttle because no intake manis come with it. thats an extra 400$
