Default G3 Integra Tweeters?

Hey all, been doing some digging on the net today and decided on a little project for myself to do.

I would like to get the factory tweeters to run with my aftermarket speakers. Since owning the teg they have never been connected. I have unfortunately not found any conclusive information out there as to how the wiring's supposed to be done. I did not find anything saying the factory tweeters required a crossover with aftermarket speakers but only found one post that suggested they didn't.

Any insights? Ideas? Experiences?

Thanks
David

Back in the day with my first civic, I just spliced into normal speakers. Don't know if I did it right, but it worked :P

^^^This is what I was thinking would work...it's the easiest way of doing it it's not the pro way which you might not like David.

Let me tell you thou I would look for some aftermarket tweeters as mine really make static and you can hear them when playing music loud, they don't hold up to what the aftermarket ones do.

I've uncovered some more stuff on them and it turns out they apparently have a capacitor between the terminals, a sort of rudimentary but functional alternative to the crossover most components these days have.

Will work, but not as well as it otherwise would with the crossovers. I've got two sets of tweeters to play with, might as well give it a try!

Thanks for the replies so far guys. Appreciate it

Confirmed! I piggybacked the tweeters onto the front speakers. They sound great! I dont have any problems with hissing, although i am running an amplifier on the speakers and a capacitor in line with each front speaker.

I studied the wiring setup in the doors and the speaker wire and tweetee both are the same colour, meaning they just split. It seems Acura did do the same thing after all.
