Default Engine Light Again!!

a few months ago after changing my intake into an aftermarket...the engine light came on a few days or 1 week...I got it check and it was a misfire....i reseted it..and a week later agen light came on..and it was the o2 sensor..I did my research and found out that misfire could result into running lean..which made my o2 sensor go gaga...so I change my plugs and it was gone...

Now a month and a half later it came back on... i reseted it by disconnecting the battery and it comes back after 2 trips. I currently have no cash to fix the 02 sensor...I believe its the second sensor... would this kill my car?...and btw Iv been getting good milage but performance comes and goes....

should i do a ECU reset due to changin the intake?.. Can I ride it out?....
Thanks TI

No need to reset ecu after installing an intake. Instead of disconnecting the battery all the time to clear from cel, get it scanned or diy to find out what's wrong.
You should check your rotor/cap to see the condition of the contacts, that could lead to misfire. Also, when you changed the plugs how did they look?
If you know its the 2nd o2 sensor is bad, then you won't do damage. Hell people flash out o2s from ecu lol, only downside is if yours is bad, your milage and performance will go down.
You can check your cel with a piece of wire or paper clip. Ill post a link when I get home to a site with a how-to check cel.

I'm confused by o2 sensor on your intake, do you mean MAF sensor? Cause I thought the only O2 sensors where in the exhaust manifold?

What I meant was....I Installed an Intake...and the ENGINE LIGHT came on/...and I got it scanned... first one was missfire...adn then the next one was the o2 sensor.

i know there is a member on tcc who sells em. i bought one from him NTK [NGK] for 90$ as i recall. part source wants over 130 i tihnk. but that was for my civic and since it was obd1 i only had 1 sensor. i believe the secondary sensor is a little cheaper.

Lol thanks for the info, Im a little sketchy in that area. OP you say you need a new O2 sensor, you can have my old one works fine, it'd be a temp thing since it is semi old Lol, I also have a brand new civic o2 sensor BUT idk if they'd be the same, you can take them off me since they're just sitting around.

I am just updated the thread... yesterday while driving the engine light disappeared and I am pretty sure it is because of the 89 OCTANE gas I used. After switching to 89 half way through the tank the engine light disappeared. YAY... I have disconnected the battery more than 25 times and nothing seemed to work except now. So im just sharing...if you have an engine light trying increasing the octane...

What engine do you have? Some require 91 or higher.
