DA trouble!

Default DA trouble!

hey i have a 93 gsr and my rear window defroster doesnt work! anybody seen this problem before or have any tips?

Default

Check to see if you have any power going to the defrost grids, using a voltmeter, if you hav one. If not check fuses and then go from there.

k so i checked the grid and there is power going to it!!! so now iim stumped....ive only had the car for about 2 months, so, does the heat have to be activated in order for the defroster to work? lol sounds dumb but i dont know! HELP PLEASE

No the heat does not have to be on. Check the fuses. If not, the wire may have gotten cought somewhere and snapped.

but there is power on the grid. both fuses are good. if the wire snapped then there wouldnt be power at the contact or directly on the grid! correct? p.s thanks for the help!!!

Sorry read it wrong. How long did you try waiting for it to heat up? In my 92 it takes for ever. After a minute or so you can slowly see it working.

well its been happening everytime it rains and i get in the car and the moisture blah blah. and i turn it on and drive for like 10-15 minutes at least, and nothing happens. i cant see out the back and its driving me nuts!!!!!

Well turns out on my buddies golf, one of the tabs that are glued on on opposite sides of the grid have fallen off and was hanging.
Where did you check for power from? Actual grid or side bar?
Hm this is a tough one lol.

everywhere! lol i checked the contact point on the glass where the connectors go into. i checked every line on the grid and everyone had power!!!! lol im so confused!
