Check your battery terminal connections.

You're kidding me right? That's simple. Check your battery. Either it's dead because of age or you left a light on and it's been drained to hell.

Check the connections or have it tested.

I can sell you a good used battery for $28.50 if you need one.

Check the grounds to the starter, I had this prob last yr with my integra. Make sure the grounds are solid, and good.

Wiggle the wires around, I swore my grounds were good, my friend wiggled the wires around and it turned out the actual Wire itself was no good!

sounds like the solenoid is kicking the gear out but the starter motor isn't spinning the gear

I Had the same problem in my Da, it use to do the same thing n sometimes it would start but then once in awhile it just didn't want to give me the same reasons as yours i never figured out what it was somebody told me it could have been the relay or something but i ended up swaping the motor n so far i haven't had that problem

Ditto. I picked up my car a few weeks ago and one thing it did was sometimes refuse to turn over. I hear the solenoid click and nothing else. After trying enough times it would go (if the battery wasn't dead yet). After that it would start like new for the rest of the day. Then after sitting again, it'd be a roll of the dice. I installed a rebuilt starter and now it fires on first try.
