Default project shave

So I'm looking to shave my hatch spoiler and fix the lil rust. To beging with i bearly know anything about painting but i have read alot of diy bondo/painting threads and now im practising on a spare hatch from another car that was sitting around heres how i went with it.
First i took the elbem off and sanded the area and put the bondo over the holes.

the holes are gone, sanded down the bondo.

put some rattle can paint on it, bah i took one of the holes off by accident behind the hole ...oh well. at this point , this is the second coat of paint, i wet sanded then painted.

now lets get that spoiler off

Ok now i know im missing alot of sanding steps and ----, i only used 2 differnet grits of sand, the first was like 1500 i think to get the paint off ,and the bondo, then some low grit like 300 or something to event out the first coat of paint. Leave me some tips and stuff I'm missing thanks
:laugh1:

it's hard to make out those pics. bondo really isn't recomended for filling holes. fibreglass would've worked better and welding it in would've worked best. bondo is weak and it'll crack from vibrations. short strand kitty hair might do the trick.

use 300 to get the old stuff off, and to smoothen out the bondo i'd use 400 then 800 and the 1500 to wetsand the paint.
