2nd Gen LSVTEC anyone have it?

well they're only as reliable as you build them.
Slap a b16 head on a stock b18a block and it won't make that much power (160whp 130ft/lbs if you're lucky). And i wouldn't expect it to last too long if you plan on revving the crap out of it, stick to under 7500rpms and you'll be fine.
Now if you want to change the pistons out for some b16/itr/ctr slugs, get arp rod bolts and all of the required machine work, vtec oil and water pump, head studs and maybe some cams its not uncommon to see 200+whp. Its all about how you build it and how much money you have.
And lsvtec's are really reliable and will last a long time when built properly.
Don't skimp on anything, its not worth it.

i've built a few. I am building a 2L bottom end to use my current built b16 head on.
But forged slugs are so damn expensive. Its tempting to use a spare b18a i've got and build it with some new p30's, stock 81.5mm pistons are so much cheaper than forged and my goal is only 200whp.

I'm using P30 pistons for my build too (easiest and cheapest to find and require no machine work to mount to LS rods). doing some light machine work to the bottom end and a complete valvetrain upgrade. i'll be happy if i get 200hp to the flywheel.
