Default brake light question

Ok... im not sure if theres another way around this. My brake light bulb on the right side keeps blowing out only one of the two filaments everytime i replace the bulb, so does this mean i must go find a new socket and wire it in? or is there something else i can do? It doesnt seem as though any of the wires are loose from the socket so im stumped... i just hope i dont get a ticket in the meantime. Any help is appreciated

you got a short somewhere along the lines. Try taking out the whole rear tailight. Check over the wiring harness and make sure no leaks, cuts or tears are in the wiring.

Check inside the socket too, because most of the time water gets in there and shorts the bulbs out. Oh and replace the taillight gaskets, cuz there poo.

Take a meter and trace it down to the short.
I think it must be in the socket, have a look inside and make sure the contacts are not touching each other or the body from both sides front and back!
Also, check and the wire (that experiences the burnt filament), against the body with a meter.
