Default wraped my headliner...

so over the last week or so i have gotten the idea to change all the gray peices in my car to black. so i went to frabric land and bought some black vinel that matches ouf black dashes.. not sure if anyones to intreested but heres the steps i went through...

So i started with laying down newspaper and prep the area where i will be spraying

then lay out the material so you can cut a smaller peice to work with..

then cut it out.. you wanna cut it about 3 inches bigger then you headliner so it will go into all the curves and also so you can wrap it around the edges when your done..

then clean off the surfaces so the glue will stick... i got some 3m adhisve from part source that works well. very sticky but its is 25$ a can..
then your going to want to spray down both surfaces with glue and let sit for about 5 min for the glue to activate... then stick em together and start molding to the headliner...and heres what it looks like when its all done..(havent folded the edges in the pic yet)

i've used it before for my door panel insterts. the first hot day, it started to come unglued. i think the 3m spray says it's not reccommended for headliners. there's one that is and one that isn't. i have both. i ended up redoing them with contact cement. holds alot better.

btw Kloo, are you female? i think i see a boob in this pic

lol thats my gf you prevs lol jk.. yea i kno theres more then 2 kinds.. this is the stuff the holds vinel on the out side of cars...
as for the list of stuff used...
the vinel was $12.00M and i used about 1 3/4m so 2m would to just the headliner.. (frabic land)
the glue was from partsource and came to around 25.00 with taxes and i had none left after the headliner and sunroof peice...(dont be stingy and make sure your in a very warm place..)
we wiped it all down with and all purpose cleaner for prep..
(obviosly you get the woman to clean it lol :P)
and i cant stress this enough.. make sure the glue has set.. if it hasnt set before you bond then you will eather have it not bond or in heat like buff said it will sagg/come off..
i also used gloves becuase the gule is really hard to get off skin..
nawaaz if you want to see more of the boob come over for a beer lol haha

jk..
i may need a hand putting the light back together.. when i took it apart to paint a lil berring fell out and also a spring and a clip... anyone kno how to reasemble this? if anyone has anymore questions feel free to shoot em this way... ( im gonna have to start blurin out my girl like we blur out plates... haha)
ps nawaas if you ever need and best buy/ future shop items let me know i get cost +10%..also any other t.i. member in london!

and here are the pics off it all in the car...
