Ok, a few things. You can not compare the Viper ACR to a normal GT-R, the normal GT-R needs to be compared to the normal viper, no real comparison can be made until the GT-R V-Spec III comes out. The GT-R would RAPE the normal viper. Remember that the ACR Viper is tuned by a professional Racing company, ACR has a pretty awesome rep with Vipers, and they did wonders with this one, it's an animal. I'm curious as to how it would fare around a track like Laguna Seca, or Tsukuba...with smoother roads...seeing as a car that is the fastest around Nur, won't necessarily be the fastest around other tracks, unless maybe the suspension is fiddled with, but we're talking about the cars straight out of the box, no changes made. ANYWAY, that's just my 2 cents

I third that decision. Wait til the V-Spec Version of the GTR comes out.

I hear Chrysler cannot afford to keep Vipers no more, this was there last attempt at anything :P

Viper name tag is being auctioned off by chrysler right now as we speak. I think i heard that right on the radio. Don't forget about the ZR1 there, that time was set by Gm Engineer, granted he still must have been really good, i'd like to see how jan magnussen does with the zr1 at the ring. Oh don't forget how old that corvette platform is either...its like the gtr's grandfather haha.

The Vette (started in 1953) was only started 4 years prior to the Skyline (started in 1957), thought I'd inform you. Makes it more like its brother from another mother then a grandpa.

I hear some peddals going backwards. Bottom line is it ran the time (unoffcial but it still ran it with witnesses) When the new GTR spec 3 comes out to run that's fine it may beat it but for now it hasn't. Also look at #2 on the list - domestic. The reason I point this out is I like to give the JDM (OhhHH ---- itsS theE BeSt SinCe iTs JDM) fanbois a hard time.

The people who love all cars are cool with me (you know who you are). You like cars regardless of who makes them and where they come from and you appreciate each individual model rather than what company makes it.

Viper is being auctioned off reason being is their Halo car isn't doing too much for the brand due to their other problems. Halo cars usually dont make money - they just promote the brand and its capabilities. They also can use the money - I dont think they are FORCED to sell it but it is a smart move if they do. They will get mor eback $ wise than they could ever get out of the car itself in profits.

Hey man I'm cool with all brands of cars, a car is a car, everything can be beat. I look for Flagship/Nostalgic cars not your regular pick your color off the lot car. Not sure who that JDM fan boy statement was for. You can't just ignore the GTR just because you think there's a fad going around. Your following the typical North American Stereotype. Hate all others go Domestic. Can't blame the Japanese for the North American Automobile Market downfall. I agree that the ACR has taken the lead, but that's only for now. The Crown definitely isn't going to remain there.

In regards to the Viper being auctioned off wouldn't you hate it if the Viper went to a Japanese Company :P

I'm talking about the current platform that the ZR1 is based on, in essence its pretty much hasn't changed since 1997. When the C5 was introduced.

It wasn't directed at you. You just happened to post above my post.

Also how can you ever say I hate all others and say go domestic - Ive owned more japanese cars that most people on the site, as well modded each one of them up past many people (note I did not say all). Ive also owned amercian cars too and have done the same. My favourite car brand is actually Porsche. I'm the farthest thing from being an USDM fanboi or a JDM fanboi as well. I appreciate all cars for what they are. I in fact love the new GTR and Im not hating on it at all but I am hating on those that love it more for it being "popular" and "japanese" rather than its a marvel of current modern automotive technology.

I couldn't care less - it would still be the same car which I like. It doesn't matter to me who makes it or any car I like.

Relax....you know you want a domestic!...hehehe
The GTR needs to establish itself in the north american market...it need to attract an audience outside of "JDM" car enthusiests... where as the the vette...has that..

You'd be surprised how many vette owners are on the waiting list for the GTR, it is a pretty crazy car technology wise. I'm pretty sure its power rating is underrated as well. My only irk with the car is that it has no clutch, if i'm putting down serious numbers i want to feel it in my feet regardless of whether its faster or not.

I'm beginning to hate clutch cars. I'm beginning to certain cars with TipTronic, that actually shift on command unlike some from the first generations of TipTronic.

I feel the same way about cars, I don't really care about where the car came from I really look for how well built the car was. I'm leaning towards a 4Door Euro as my next car.

Its definetly a quicker shift, and it will bring your lap times down, but like i said before I like feeling the power through the clutch not to mention power shifting is fun too once in a while lol.

Yeah if I was living in an area with next to no traffic, I might still have been interested in manual gearbox cars. I'm just really annoyed by driving manual cars lately. I was thinking of going Sequential Tranny on my car.
