Default Tribute to my Friend

Some of you may have heard about the shooting in Edmonton this past Sunday during the early morning. One of my closest friends Dave Persaud was one of the victims and some of his other friends made a tribute video. Thought I would share this and hope that this incident wakes all these kids out there who think violence and guns are "cool".

RIP Dave Randolph Persaud

Chris I'm so sorry that this happened to your friend. From his tribute he seemed like the type of guy you would call family rather than just a friend. May God be with you, the rest of his friends, his wife and his family.

May he RIP...

Guns have never solved anything and I do hope that justice is served.

Thanks everyone for the support, I really appreciate it. It is going to be tough dealing with this and im glad to hear people are there to support everyone effected by this tragedy. Dave was like family to everyone, his wife's sisters considered him a brother more than an in-law. I considered dave to be a brother type and he was always there whenever I needed him no matter what.

I am thinking of doing some commemorative Shirts, Drain plugs or something and raising money to help his family out with the costs of the funeral and such. If you guys have any ideas please let me know.

Sorry for your loss buddy. Edmonton is getting really bad for that stuff. It's never easy losing someone, especially in those circumstances.

That name has close meaning for me too. I grew up with a guy named Dave Persaud. Indian kid also. Back in grade 6 him and his sister were over at my house for my sister's birthday. His dad came and picked them up. That night his dad shot the kids, his wife, then himself.

Chris let me know what you need to be done for something like this. I would love to help out as I just read the article about him and how his wife forgave the shooters and how they just want to stop the violence.

Yeah Dave was married 3 days before he left for edmonton and his wife was going to join him next spring. He was trying to break-up a fight that broke out at the club because apparently the bouncers just let the fight go on for too long.

Damn he was so young man why does this happen to the peace makers? i didnt know Dave but i watched the video and he looked like a fun laid back guy, how could a guy like this get caught up in a mess like that. Watching this video makes me realize that life is short and can end at any given moment, so live life to the fullest and enjoy it.
Sorry to hear man

Wow I just watched the most recent videos and I actually started to tear up when his wife was talking about him. On a lighter note, did anyone notice how true of a West Indian Dave's family was...there's a gathering of some sort and they used a ping pong table for a table to put food on. I love seeing families like the one Dave had.

May he RIP and I do hope that his family and wife in time will be able to move on and find some justice.

Actually that wasnt Dave's wife but was the mother of a child who Dave and his wife would take out to the movies and stuff all the time. Dave's wife couldn't get up to read the letter she wrote to Dave so she had a close friend read it for her.

I think the ping pong table was at his Wife's house for his b-day but alot of the pictures in the videos are from his engagement and there is always TONS of food.

Sorry to hear about this man I hope you get the support you need through the tough times, I did not know this man but that doesnt matter what matters is another brown man's life is claimed to knuckle head voilence.

I truely am sickened by the voilence within the guyanese, indian, tamil, black etc etc community. I have seen over 5 people die within the last 2 years to mindless acts such as this the shooter should get life without a chance at parole.

I was wondering did he have family/cousins outside of the GTA(london, k-w) I presently attend U of W and over the years have seen a lot of Persauds in the area and I was just curious if he had fam outside of the GTA that you might know of?

I hope his fam gets through this man, his friends and you as well, the violenece definately has not dummed down in the brown community it's sad to see, people really need to educate the youngsters about the plague within their communities.
