S2000 AP1 Retrofit in DC2

#12
All the work was done by me.
I posted here too but I'll give you the gist of it : S2000 AP1 Retrofit - Team Integra
Went from the worst headlight system (stock) to:
- buying brighter bulbs (Xtravision)
- highbeam bulb swap
- buying auxillary driving lights
- then added a HID kit (ugggh - pure crap)
- did a TSX retrofit
- now changed to one of the best headlight systems - a S2000 retrofit.
I had to paint the reflector bowls black b/c I rear ended someone and cracked them. They are held together by glue and covered up by the Krylon paint!
The S2000 projector housing is naturally black, but I painted them even blacker with the BBQ paint. I left the lens holder unpainted in it's natural silver color.
For the highbeams, there are 2 pieces to the reflector bowls. I painted the outer ones black, left the real reflector bowl intact. Sort of a black eye effect.
The TSX system took me 2 days.
I managed to do the S2K projectors in 13 hours not including the 8 hours afterwards fine tuning the rotational adjustment.
So TSX:
Projectors $150 CDN
+ nuts and bolts, and miscellaneous parts = $60 CDN
+ extra set of headlights = $100 CDN
+ BBQ spraypaint = $8 CDN
+ Krylon Black spray paint = $8 CDN
+ Prolumen 35w Galaxy kit = about $200 CDN
+ Genuine Phillips 85122+ bulbs = $65 USD barely used.
+ tonnes of patience and research = priceless
For S2000:
Projectors (depends on year) mine were the "best ones" year 2000 AP1 with flat area in front of sheild and clear lens = $450 CDN (usually these are worth $400+ USD)
+ nuts and bolts and high strength threadlocker = $60 CDN
+ another set of internal light brackets = $40 CDN
and I just used everything else from the TSX retro.
