wow, you'd be in better interest to get the cut-out replacement pannels for the quarters.

There are a few options you can do to fix that rust...

a: go to sunny california, buy yourself some new rear quarter panels, bring them back, cut out your panel, weld it back together and have it repainted.. (that's hardcore which *I* wish i was able to do)

b: bring it to a reputable body shop that can sandblast/cut out the rust and weld new metal (which is what I had to do), prime and paint...

OR

c: sand it down yourself with a sandblaster (or somekind of grinder) and magically use bondo (which by the looks of your pics will be tough to do), shape it, prime it and paint it (in which the lovely rust will just return in just over a year)..

I had that problem with my previous da9.. even though i loved that car to pieces (completely done internally).. the shell was just rotting to hell... i'm talking rust in the obvious places (including on top of the windshield (nice big hole), both sides underneath the rear quarter panel windows (nice holes there too) and underneath the weatherstripping where the door jams are (if i pulled on it the weather stripping, it would just simply fall off cuz there's that much rust).. I just sold it.. figured it wouldn't be worth it to have fixed only for it to come back a year later...

then i got my db1.

ya im a good welder, i could buy new sheet metal and weld it in, grind it down, and then paint it. or i can spend some $$$ and go to body shop and do it the lazy way

btw i bought the car for very cheap, with plans to restore it. sure it may be rusty on the outside, but the car runs solid, thats what i love about the car.

Hey Mark,

Do they make those for 5th Gen Civics? Those would be ideal for my girls' car.
