You might not be as lucky as the guy that I pulled out of this car.

In burlington, on my way home from sauga this car pulls up in the fast lane flicking his high beams to the car in front of him, beside me. It's a Crysler Sebring. The driver of the car moves forward to allow him a gap to get in front of me, so that's what he does and takes off from 120km/h. I can see a pylon stuck under his car, like this guy just came from Auto-X or something.

It pissed me off but there was no way i can catch him running on 3 cylinders, 120km/h is the fastest i wanna go. so the highways splits to QEW Niagra and 403 Hamilton. he takes QEW i take 403 but just as i got on the split i saw snow fly up from the bend on the QEW side, then i see headlights, more snow, then i see his car ramp up out of a ditch and more snow fly. all this as he's coming towards the 403. he finally gets on flat ground as he coming under the 407 ETR bridge, Skims one support pole and nails the second one.

Both of these poles are 12-15ft around. as soon as he hit the pole i pull out my phone and pull over along with another witness. i got out of my car, phone in my hand, when i was running past the other witness i told her to call 911, i called aswell.

i got up to the car, fearing i'm gonna see a blood bath i look in the passenger window and i can't see much, all i see is that he's concious. i get around to the drivers side and he unlocks the doors. i pry the door open, i'm still on the line with dispatch at this point. once i got it open i told dispatch that he's concious. i talk to the driver so see if he's ok and he's answering all of my questions as I helped him get out of the car. he struggled a bit once he was on his feet. it looked like he was still dazed or drunk, but i could smell booze on him. i didn't even see a scratch on him. dispatch says they have an ambulance and cruiser on the way so i hang up.

he tells me he needs to find his glasses. so i tell him that should be the least of his problems right now and that he's lucky he's alive and walking. i go looking in his car anyways and when i did that, it dawned on me that there might be more ppl in there. i check the back seat and found nobody. GOOD!

First OPP showed up and asked me and the other witness what we saw. i told him i saw the whole thing and that i smelt booze on his breath. the cop takes the guy to the cruiser so i went and sat back in my car. called a couple ppl to tell them what happened and then took these pics.

about 20 min later another OPP shows up takes a statement from the other witness as the first cop takes the driver to the station. then i gave mine and he told me he's getting aressted for DUI.

I'm still shocked the guy came out alive and uninjured. The guy was dumb enough to drink and get behind the wheel but atleast he was smart enough to wear his seatbelt. thanks to his seatbelt and airbag, he's gonna be in one piece so he can serve some jail time.

yo it was very good of you to pull over and help him out of his car, altho a part of me says that he deserved 100% of what he got for drinking and driving. it's never cool when ppl get hurt, but what can he expect? i hope he never drives again because he could have easily killed someone else on the road.

I was driving south on Dufferin late last night when the girl that was with me said "Look, this guy is hammered!". So there was this Altima going right beside me and the driver had a hard time trying to keep his body and face straight. His driving was uneven and I thought I'd drive away before he puts me in trouble but freaking guy was speeding up along with me so both of us were already going about 85-90 km/h mind you in a 70 zone. So I slow down. This second the guy thinks he'll change the lane and cuts another vehicle that was on his right side. Thank God he didn't think to take the lane where I was. Then I made a left on Sheppard and he kept heading toward 401, hopefully he didn't kill anybody on his way and got home in one piece himself. I didn't even think of dialing 911 and reporting him since I was busy trying to save my *** and my car from this bastard.

the fact that he was impared was just stupid, however it was really awesome of you Mark to respond to the crash in the manner that you did. Congrats! Luckily he wasn't hurt or even worse, killed.

you should have left him in his seat, moving him could have injured him more, especially in an accident like that.

props for sticking around to help opp

Mark that was amazing of you to go and help this guy out. Yes I realize that he was drunk while driving but trust me, when I got into my car accident, NO ONE except this one guy helped Trenell to get me out of the car.

Fuzzy, sadly enough I bet this guy will be driving again...maybe not now, but in a few years or whenever he's eligible again to drive. Just ask Trenell about the drunk guy we reported about...it was his third offence and he STILL had his driver's licence.

I'm really glad that no one else was in this car with him and that no one else was hurt. That accident really did bring goosebumps on my arms. How can someone be THAT stupid.

Good stuff Mark, it's sad that he had to pass a lot of ppl to get on the highway and no one called in to report him.

Most people would just keep driving and them make up some excuse why they couldn't stop/make the phone call to the police to let them know what's going on.

Good stuff once agian

Wow, that's a crazy story...I hope he gets raped in jail. Props to you!!

Our family was almost killed by a drunk driver probably almost 20 years ago, smashed into us on 401 and we smashed the median.
